So you make good money and have no mortgage, but you thought using a credit card to bet football was a good idea? And you couldn't pay it? You're an idiot.
And now you don't want your girlfriend to find out how dumb you are. Words can't even describe...

He's paid off his mortgage, unless I misunderstood the OP.

I'm feeling crazy. Could he not go to a bank tomorrow, borrow against his condo, pay off the cc with said borrowed money, and save a lot in interest? Why has no one suggested this?

This is true.
One of the main factors in credit score is the ratio of debt/available credit.
If you have a bunch of credit cards with a lot of available credit (especially if you've had them for a long time) but have basically zero balance on them, you'll get a significant bump on your score.
If you have a high balance on a lot of cards that are all maxed out, obviously that really effects your score.
If they OP hasn't missed payments (even just the minimum) then your score will improve once you pay down the debt. Focus on that, especially since you're probably paying a huge APR on all that gambling debt.
Just make sure you don't miss payments then the long-term ramifications will be more impactful and harder to recover from.

Because we all instinctively realize that this entire story is probably BS.

This the one who "accidentally" woke up naked in bed with your husband/wife friends?

So you're suggesting a gambling addict open up a line of credit that will be tied to his dwelling and put it on the line and allow him to rack up even more debt that he might be able to hide until it truly becomes a total financial clusterfrick of gambling addiction?
Sounds like a solid plan.

Having your GF read your financial shite like like having her read your diary--which I'm guessing you keep, and which I'm guessing she's already peaked into.
Gawdamm man, what's with you ....

You're probably right. I'd just hate for the OT to lose it's reputation as a place you turn to for help with life problems....

Don't let family/friends do your taxes.

IT WAS JUST ONE BAD YEAR FOR THE SAINTS!

She will have your SSN and presumably knows enough personal info to be able to pull your FICO, or at least your report (which is all that really matters). It would be highly illegal to do so without your consent though, so it's unlikely she would try.
But you should be coming clean to her anyway.

Would she be able to see/view my credit score easily from the information that she'd get (work W-2's, Roth IRA EOY statements, etc) if she was interested in doing so?

Why don't you ask her ?

You're trying to hide shite from her already?? This is why the divorce rate is so high. Three things will come of this.
1. If she does ask run very very fast.
2. She'll ask and you'll lie in which she should run very very fast.
3. She doesn't ask yet you dont tell so she should still run because you use credit cards to gamble which is breaking the golden rule of gambling. Don't bet what you don't have."

685 is not a bad score.
Its not good either but if his only issue is the amount of debt he can get it way up when he pays it off

False

So what if she sees your score?
Something is fishy here, besides you being a gambling addict using a credit card to compound your losses.
Nice story, but I'm positive there are other things on that report that will tell her somethings you don't want her to know.
Good luck with life knowing you can't be honest with your GF.
