Have a cousin in hospital that got discharged today and I’m in charge of picking him up.

Just wondering any you folks in that part of state know about I49 northbound.

It could happen late afternoon after that sun comes out all day, but it’s still going to be tough.

its supposed to finally get above freezing tomorrow afternoon

I'm sure the roads will still be slush with some ice, so it will be tough, but probably doable

I'd plan for at least 4 hours

I’d wait to leave until after lunch. Roads tomorrow am around Shreveport will be like today - 90 percent ice and an absolute wreck.

I’d recommend bringing your own water.

That’s all I can contribute.

there is like a 90% chance you are going to get caught in traffic for at least 1 wreck

If it’s as icy there as it is here in east texas, I’d say no.

This is a lot different then last month when the snow hit, that was driveable

You shouldn't. It's bad. You'll wreck and someone will have to spend time helping you. Stay where you are.

Depends on what you are driving. I have made it to and from the hospital the past fews days in a car with a V6 engine and relatively newer tires. Stay in the tracks the people before you made and don't drive like a grandma and you should be fine.

Heading that way tomorrow from Baton Rouge. I plan on leaving at 10:00 am and taking my time. I’m heading to Ft. Worth though, so I’m a little nervous getting on I-20.

If anyone has been on these roads or is going on them tomorrow, feel free to give updates. Midsize SUV here.
