I'd say middle to high income earning males are the majority demographic on the OT, at least past age 24.

I'm speaking in generalities here. I think we can all admit that there are more dead beat dads than moms. I'm aware that moms are the problems often enough, but for the vast majority of the country I'd bet its dads.

Didn't see that part of your post, probably not. I'd imagine there are a lot more single-no kid folk here, though.

If you're an educated guy who's making money with no desire for kids you really don't get that much in tangible benefits from marriage.

basically. you can even have serious, monogamous, long-term relationships in this paradigm

it's just not contractual with severe economic effects

and being males, we know that if we want kids, we don't have to have them by 35-40 or lose the option altogether

male BC is going to be a major game changer, too

Marriage is "flawed" today for at least 2 reasons.

1. Most nuclear families in the past 30-40 years are "run" by mom. Yeah dad makes the money, provides arse whoopins when necessary, and has final say on big decisions. Yet mom is the one spending the most time with the kids. Dressing them, telling them what to do, etc. Those kids (the boys) grow up and unconsciously pick a mate with the same personality. So it perpetuates a cycle of women getting the final say in....everything.

2. Almost everything in society today is "instant gratification". So young people today have short attention spans and get bored easily. That stems to relationships. And since you can always get "a better product", people approach relationships the same way. Why work at this shite when I can just go grab a new one.

IMO most guys get married out of fear. Fear of dying alone. Fear that if you don't lock one down now, you end up wading through a sea of women over 35 and crazy. (unless you're rich and can pull something fresh out of college) Fear that if you don't get marry her, she'll be getting gorilla fricked by some loser you despise

Joe Rogan has some pretty good insight on relationships (NSFW Language)
