At 54 so yeah I think I might have some good advice to give.
Maybe, maybe not.
Not everyone’s situation is the same. How did you grow up? 2 parent household, or 1? Did you go to college? Where? Scholarship help? What is your race? What was your parent’s income? Where did you live immediately after graduating HS? College? What was the job market like for your business? Did you inherit any money? When? Parents set you up for early success? Did they have debts?
The obsession with folks to paint everything as black and white is a major problem in this country, especially politically.
There are some plain truths out there about the value of a dollar, and it’s easy to dig into COL and things of the like for a particular area.
What worked well for you, wherever you were and whenever it was, may not at all be feasible today. What works for someone in Lafayette, Louisiana probably doesn’t get you the same level of riches or success in say, San Diego, California.
You are lucky to have retired at 54, and congrats that you seem to be enjoying life.
You say you have some good advice, but you mostly seem to be shitting on people in here. Other than not buying a morning Starbucks, what can you offer?

The mid range SUV I bought was close to 2/3rds of my then-annual pay, which is about where an average car today falls for my daughter on her engineering salary.
does she live in a tent? how in the world does one spend 2/3rds of their annual salary on an suv?

One thing I'll say about the "younger generation" many(not all) say housing costs are out of control. Being just out of HS/college/whatever you can't expect to get a 1200-1500 sq foot house of your own. In my early 20's you'd get 3 or 4 friends and all share an apartment and split the costs. Again not all but too many kids these days think they deserve all the things they got accustomed to that their parents provided.

Make sure you are invested 100% in the stock market and if you want to set it and forget it put it in an S&P500 fund or ETF. No 60/40 bond BS even in retirement. And don’t pay these money manager fees that take 1% no matter what the market does. S&P500 index. Done.
Spend less than you earn. It’s not just Starbucks. That’s just one straw of many that are breaking your back.
Pivot if your current career isn’t making you enough. No one is entitled to do what they love for a living and make it.
No one owes you anything. Take control of your future.
Choosing your spouse is the biggest decision you make. It ain’t all about how good the pussy is.
It’s OK to complain but let’s put more energy into a solution.
Do things yourself and stop paying people to do everything. With YouTube and the internet, you can damn near fix anything yourself.
Stop watching TV, reality shows, whatever. They didn’t call it the boob tube for nothing. A colossal waste of time. I haven’t watched TV in probably 25 years. Wish I never did.
People play online games for too much time. I like playing them too but it’s a time suck.
Always keep learning. Knowledge is power.
Learn how to teach yourself that way you don’t have to rely on others to get knowledge.
A wise man learns from others mistakes. Observe others.
Maximum effort always.
Now I’m not successful at doing all these things always. I’m human. Get lazy, etc. but I try.

If those same young kids take $7,000 a year and max out a Roth IRA from the age of 22-32, then don’t invest another dime until they’re 65, they’ll have close to $2.5 million at retirement.
So no. They aren’t fricked. They’re just spending a shitload of money on stupid shite.

though carter, clinton, obama, and biden ruined the country by getting rid of jobs and making everything too expensive
So, Fed activity with cheap money from 2001 until almost forever? Do you want low mortgage rates or not? I like 25% interest on credit cards, at least now it makes people pay attention.
But don't be disingenuous and claim it was only democrats that argued for lower rates for home ownership, etc. If you're going to include Carter in that group, you need more explanation. Shitty president, but most of the OT will just go (RRR, Democrat, bad!) and not be intellectually prepared to deal with the slightest pushback. Like how the Clinton "peace dividend" created Halliburton and KBR which made a lot of people rich, but that it was the (R) congress that arguably balanced the budget for him.
Don't be so pedantic as saying shite like "rid of all the jobs and making everything too expensive." You're better than that. The COVID infusions started during Trump, and fed with diesel during AutoPen did it all, along with interest rates that were too low to reflect reality. Oh, and congressional spending. Those retards like Maxine Watters that people keep voting for.
An HVAC journeyman cert costs $4500. That's the cost of one master's degree class. Are you telling your kids to learn a trade (with the outcome how to run a successful business being the point, clearing 200k+ and taking afternoons off, not sweating in an attic?) Or are you ashamed to tell your friend group they're not going to university?
Interdisciplinary studies, but at least you have a degree, amirite?

Granny Clutch…that’s cute. Care to race?

I don’t disagree with your points. But elder people shouldn’t be forced into Wall Street for a decent return on their savings. Fed interest should be minimum 9%.
And I would wax your arse

You lost the race at the stoplight, sir. Nobody is forced into anything.
"Decent return on their savings?" You can choose to invest in bonds if you're 19 in your 401/IRA, or can understand you can withstand more risk. You have all kinds of choices, and the fed rate doesn't impact equities in a measurable manner. It's not the job of the rest of society to underwrite your financial illiteracy, which you clearly suffer from.
I don't think you understand what you're asking for. A Fed reserve rate of 9% would mean mortgage rates (based on the 10 year T bill) would be twice what they are now. One of you title lawyers correct me, but I'm pretty close. Who could afford a mortgage at 1970 Carter rates at near 20%?
Ok. None of the other weak dicks have gone as far as to make physical threats they can't back up. Just call me an idiot like everyone else does. Nobody has threatened you in any way except with well deserved insults.

On the positive side, he's going to give us something to do this week when everyone else is distracted pulling shite out of the attic.
