What are your favorite places to camp? What do you camp in? Favorite meals and negatives about camping?

Jellystone Parks (yogi bear) in Fremont Indiana, and mount Gilead ohio. East harbor ohio. Traverse city Mich

Have a pop up camper

Pizza bobs over the fire

Dont like Ohio's up and down weather. Mid 70s for a high this weekend and I'm at a water resort. Can only camp 4-5 months. And hate push button showers.

TX State Parks

A tent

Steaks

Bugs, a 1/1000 thickness of material that separates you from the outside world while trying to sleep, not being able to sleep, back hurting after ultimately being able to sleep, only getting an hours worth of sleep, being the only person that cleans anything up, the only person that carries anything, the only person that kills anything, and the only person that drives anything.

We are about to leave to go camping this weekend.

We like camping in northern Arizona at a higher elevation so the weather is nice (highs 70s where we are going today).

We car camp to clarify....but would love to go backpack camping one day.

We keep it simple for meals. Brats, stuff like that. Would rather spend more time doing stuff or relaxing than prepping food, cooking, cleaning up.

Surely camping out West in a national park is awesome, but honestly if I go camping in a tent with the kids, a nearby State Park is sufficient. All I need is the out doors and some woods.
Meals again are simple, just grilling burgers, eggs in the morning.
Negatives are setting up everything and taking down and cleaning up afterwards.

Favorites:

Waking up before everyone else after sunrise and sitting at your campsite enjoying the fresh mountain air and peace and quiet (except for sounds of nature)

Negatives: Setting up/taking down camp when it's raining.

That's camping. The others are sleeping in a trailer park.

In Louisiana? Bogue Chitto is still my favorite, although I did enjoy the Wild Azaela Trail.

Tunica Hills WMA campsite is nice. The one on the state WMA....not the private one down the road. The Clark Creek hiking trail is a short drive away to see waterfalls. And the WMA campground is in the woods and hardly anyone else around outside of deer season.

A tent

Steaks and potatoes. Or burgers and sausage

Bugs and heat if you go during middle of summer

Camping right now at St. Andrews in PCB. All of the state parks on the Gulf Coast are nice. We just bought our camper in April. We have a 28 foot travel trailer. My kids love it.

We also went to Disney when school let out. Stayed at Fort Wilderness. That was really fun.

I love to camp...as long as my tent is made out of a hotel room.

Anywhere on the AT.

The woods with a hammock and a tarp.

Gorp, and I usually try to take some frozen chicken thighs with me to eat the first day.

I always buy something that I don't need nor want to carry so I spend a good deal of time packing and repacking my bag.

Strong upvote Rummy. Your post was spot on and made me lol.

ETA: best part is building and maintaining a fire the whole trip. I get mesmerized looking into flames and feeding them.

Favorite foods, (when cold), pot of chili, or jambalaya. Steaks are always great. A sleeper is steak or chicken fajitas made on black iron skillet. All wrapped up in a tortilla. But easily, big breakfast cooked outside on stove, with coffee, best meal of the day.
