in camera image stabilization
What exactly is that it just keeps a more stable picture for videos?

If you are hand-holding and using a slow shutter speed (say, because you are in a low light situation but don’t want to go to a higher ISO because of grain concerns) the slightest movement of the photographer’s hands will produce a blurred photo. Image stabilization helps reduce that. To an extent... The best solution is really a monopod or tripod though to be perfectly honest. It sounds crazy until you get into it, but a good tripod improves your photography immensely.

Wanted to also pass on a site with good reviews and forums. www.dpreview.com You can usually find sample photos/reviews for any camera. It is also a great site for tops or to post questions when you are trying to learn how to use the camera.

Edit: NM. Went back and realized it was a Fuji. Still would be interested in your opinion on mirrorless in general.

I've been using a Sony A57 for a few years now, but looking at moving to a mirrorless.

Any other Sony users, especially if you're running the 6000 series, feel free to chime in.

Good stuff. Throw that kits lens in the trash and strap that 50 on there.
