Seeking DSLR recommendation for a camera that can also connect wirelessly to a mac/pc but ultimately is a bad arse camera.

Wife (pics on reddit) dropped major hints for what she wants for her upcoming birthday and I was listening for once.

I know alot about surveillance and video but jack shite about actual photography.

I'd like to keep it under $1000.

Thanks in advance.

ETA- Decision Made, and purchased.

Canon 77D body and an Canon 50mm f1.8 prime. That’ll be like $900something total from B&H, no tax, free shipping.

Ultimately its the user and the lenses that are more important, FWIW

That's a helluva broad framework there. You'll need to narrow a bit

There's a shitload of good cameras out there that will work. But you're not just buying a camera, you're buying into a system.

Anything over 16mp is computer clogging and unnecessary unless you're creating posters

Does she already have lenses? if so, what brand

if not, I still wouldnt go to crazy and also figure out what type of photography she wants to do and get a Body only camera with an appropriate lens to match what she wants to do

Go to Costco and get the bast Canon or Nikon camera package you can afford. They all have connectivity now and are all kick arse. I'm partial to Nikon and that is what we have, but Canon has more options for lenses, etc., if you look to expand your gear. Costco adds to the warranty without more expense, which is nice.

Your wife is too stupid to do more with that camera than what her smartphone will do.

Snoop & poop your way to the flower shop an be done with it.

She was being published in magazines before "social media" was invented.

See, magazines were paper versions of what you kids today might call a "website". But not just any schmuck could start one, it was expensive to get into the publishing business. Content was much more difficult to distribute. A person needed alot more talent and work to get published back in the 20th Century.

Nikon cameras will connect wirelessly through Bluetooth. Will connect to your phone as well. Plus they have some of the best lenses. Start with the 5000 series and go up from there.
