I didn't wait. Between August and late October I saw three different doctors multiple times, including two trips to the ER. The first one said asthma while the last two said pneumonia. They assured me he shortness of breath was common and "pneumonia can take months to get over". As for the swelling, they said that was due to steroids, which was also wrong.
do you look young or something?

No advise but same thing happened to brother in law but he only had 5% of heart function and needed a pacemaker immediately. Same symptoms as yours and same miss diagnmiss.

Speaking as a doctor, I'm wondering if there's more to the story bc from your symptoms it sounds like CHF should've been in the differential immediately. Classic findings.
No, that's the whole story. And you're right. The cardeologist, surgeon, and nurses who cared for me in the hospital were amazed that those other doctors (and even nurses) failed to realize what was really going on.

I'm just saying, if it was SO bad, why'd you wait so long to go back? That could have been fatal
Reading is hard.

Naturally, in the aftermath of multiple medical professionals failing you, you come to the OT for legal advice.

So 3 different doctors saw you and misdiagnosed you...who are you planning to sue? All of them?
Sounds like it wasn't malpractice, his symptoms pointed to pulmonary issues at those points in the professional opinion of three doctors.

You should consult an attorney in your area if you have these types of questions. I'm sure you can find one who won't charge for a consultation.

For heart disease, yes. I'm in my mid-40s. When I was in the hospital first on the Cardiac ward then the Cardiac ICU, I was the youngest patient by at least 20-25 years.
Turns out my problem was a "cleft" mitral valve that I'd been born with. Id lived my whole life up till now not knowing about it.
A "cleft" valve is just like a cleft lip, except it's the valve flap in the heart. This allowed blood to always leak back with each beat. as I've aged, it got worse to the point I needed and artificial valve.

shite, you could have Googled those symptoms and came up with CHF diagnosis.
This.
I never show up to the doctor without researching extensively on the web.
The last 3 situations Iv'e had, I knew what the issue was ahead of time and was going to the doctor to confirm.
I dont care if it pisses doctors off. I would rather be knowledgable about any situation.

Which are likely insured by 1 or 2 insurance companies and their lawyers and their financial backing and those same three professionals backing each other up...
Waste of time OP.

Well no shite
Are you on the path towards making a full recovery?
So what is your exact reason for suing?

I'm trying to do just that. Only problem is I'm running into trouble finding anyone around here that actually does medical malpractice cases.

You know for certain? He's telling this story in hindsight and after the full evolution of his condition.

You can not sue someone over medical malpractice b/c of misdiagnosis. The physician needs to do something that his peers deem grossly negligent that causes you harm. Being wrong is not doing something grossly negligent. My advice get a better doctor. You should go back through your lab work they did on you in your visits. I can guarantee you they ran a BNP on you when they were going the PNA route on you. If the BNP was normal and you didn't have a ton pulmonary edema they prob dxed you correct with the PNA. It sounds like you have right sided failure anyway.

Aren't you close to Birmingham? I'm sure they are under every park bench in that city. That city has like 30 hospitals.
