Step 4 during her residency.
Not even close to being as hard as Step 5.

Not even close to my story, but I've seen it.
But I'm good, thanks.
If you are going to marry a doctor its much better to catch them towards the end of their training - no shite.
Or it might work out just great for you.

Didn't say you couldn't make money. It is simply a garbage practice.

New York bar isn't in the conversation anymore, LA and CA are the two hardest. LA is the longest.

Well I wanted to get initial information before I dropped the bombshell that this was actually her second time to fail it. She failed by two points she said. It must be hard because she studied her arse off for weeks

She is totally fricked. Get out now so the loans stop piling. I hope her parents are rich.

True, NY went to that universal exam this year. I have taken four bar exams. I will never take another one.

yeah, I'm an idiot.. Step 2 was 2 parts and Step3 is in residency.
I've heard my wife complain about them so much of the last few years it subconsciously made me think it was more than it actually was.

And you're still with her? She sounds terrible

She should just opt for PA school. Either OLOL or LSU. OLOL is willing to take anyone with a decent GPA/GRE score and willing to fork over the $100K(28 months).
If not, 4yrs of Pharmacy school.
Not becoming a MD isn't the end of the world. But if she keeps drowning in school loans with no end in sight, it could become the point of no return.

Hascshe considered a move to dentistry instead of being a real doctor?
Posted on 7/21/16 at 10:42 am to 911Moto
No way, idk how much debt she has already, I know her Dad paid a lot of it but she still took out loans. I have a friend graduating from dental school at UAB in 2017 and she will be like 250k in debt. No way she can start dental school now and incur that kind of debt on top of what she already has.

IMHO she might as well take it one more time.
She needs to consolidate her studying: Qbank and memorize "Crush step 1". She needs to read that book so many times that she doesn't even have to think about the answer.
Then on the test, select the first answer that comes to mind and move on. Don't second guess.

If she passes her steps, she'll get a residency spot eventually.
She will need to do a "prelim" or "intern" year somewhere. That'll at least get her a license. Then she can look to fill a spot somewhere a resident quits, gets fired, or dies.

Its not that bad. I dated my wife through her residency and fellowship. She didn't make her first real paycheck until she was 35.
Mine was possibly worse because I was running a business in another town and commuting. But OBGYN residency is a bitch.
Best plan for any partner of a future doctor, plan on committing to their future and putting yours on the back burner.
And wait to have a kid.
