California wildfires scorch an area the size of Los Angeles

(CNN) Sixteen of the largest wildfires burning in California have scorched 320,000 acres, authorities said Wednesday -- an area larger than the entire city of Los Angeles.
The Carr Fire, which has burned 121,000 acres and left six people dead, is now considered the sixth most destructive fire in California history, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as Cal Fire.
Forecasters said winds could be stronger Wednesday, around 20 mph to 30 mph, and high temperatures and low humidity don't bode well for containing the blazes.LINK

This happens every year out there. You'd figure more would be done to prevent it, but winds are crazy and too much fuel on the ground. It's quite sad seeing this, but it's normally the same areas and/or same issues.

Just the houses of 1M Mexicans burned so they have to go home to Mexico
And the mansions of Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Malibu burned while their owners are busy doing coke so they run out into the street in possession of drugs and get arrested and thrown into jail

Most environmentalists want to return areas to the original state. For most of CA, that would be ripping out oil-based trees and plants, and going back to a more arid ecosystem.
