We've been waiting for it to arrive the past 20 years. When can we expect it?

Because...

quote:

Californians already pay some of the highest electricity rates in the nation, and even before the Mayor’s decision, DWP had previously announced a 21% increase in electricity rates through 2021 to meet state renewable mandates. As lawmakers, engineers, planners and operators race to redesign California’s complex electricity grid to adapt to the state’s aspirational environmental goals.

Basically stopped retrofitting non green plants, pushed renewables and they can't ramp up quickly.

I thought the weather was always perfect in California? The Californians brag about it all the time. They don't need heating or cooling.

California has pretty much all of the above as far as climates go. The hottest climate in the US is Death Valley. Today's high is 121.

I am no fan of California but you all can be so weird and completely ignore details. This is the entity managing the power grid urging some conservation and listing the top 3 ways to conserve. This happens here in Texas too when the grid is strained. Why is it so offensive and why are you so weird abt conservation when it is necessary?

Just the coastal stretch, a thin strip.

So how is adding every vehicle in the state to the power grid conserving energy?

ISO mandated EVs? Interesting, missed that part of the letter.

And you folks who shite on EVs and solar and then want to talk about government control really crack me up. Maybe one day you'll realize that government (ours and others around the world) control your fuel, and the only way to avoid this type of government control is with solar+storage+EV. Your home and transportation can be completely off-grid capable with this setup. That's freedom

This is the kind of stupidity you get from people that supported killing 13 military members and lying about drone striking 7 kids in a truck during the Afghanistan withdrawal last year.

You are missing the bigger picture. California is actively attacking and moving away from sources of energy. During a time when inflation is high and California has all top 10 cities that the ratio between house price and wages is the highest in the country. Meaning people can’t afford to live there.

They are doing all of this and telling you to stop using energy you pay for while forcing you to purchase a vehicle that won’t do anything to save the planet. It’s a bullshite.

No. Freedom is being able to chose which form of energy you consume without government interaction or influence of either.

Texas is trying to completely move away from non green forms of energy? That’s news to me. Someone inform Exxon and Chevron of this development.

Fact.

The push to green energy is anti freedom any way you look at it. Its forced.

This is probably one of those negative rights perspectives.

Is their grid going to be upgraded by 2035 to handle every vehicle in that state? Bunch of dumbfricks.

Youre very angry. However, this idea of I should use any amt of energy I want when there is a limited supply is ignorant. The grid operator is telling you there is a problem but ppl with this mentality arent smart enough or are psychopaths and won't make small adjustments. Would I go to 78 degrees? Probably not but maybe close to it to save something. The hard headedness is crazy, then those same people complain about their bills... just use a little less energy when there is a grid strain. This also happens in most states.

The response was about strains on the grid. Why are people using strawmen and acting like they cant comprehend this letter?

I love to dump on Cali, but ours is set to 76 deg in the day time and it isn't that bad. Honetly, I freeze in the house when it's 72 overnight. Wearing a long sleeve tee right now.

i dunno. because it’s relevant.

California is saying no more fossil fuels or even upgrading/maintaining fossil fuel energy plants. We’re going green now regardless of the consequences. Deal with it.

Texas is saying we want all the forms of energy and have to upgrade our infrastructure to support Texans so that the Winter Storm of 20’ doesn’t happen again.

Completely irrelevant to the discussion tho amiright?
