Ah, California. Let's go back to the 2012-2013 high school basketball season in Sonoma County. The visiting team (their school is overwhelmingly Mexican and Central American in makeup) shows up to play wearing knee-high socks depicting Mexican flags on them. The home crowd student section (their school makeup is about 80% "White") begins to chant "USA, USA, USA". The cheers were being led by 4 "White", 1 Black and 1 Indonesian member of the football team. The football players were banned from attending any further sporting events that year (3 of them were seniors) and were labeled as racists in the local newspapers (their names were not printed). Oh yeah, my son was one of those "White" football players, who is actually half Italian and half Mexican.
