There's one that I think is German which is spelled at least four ways: Stout, Stoute, Stute (sometimes Stutes) and Stoot. I've only seen the AA folk in my area spell it Stoot.

And have heard it pronounce with a long U. Only time I've heard it otherwise was someone outside of the Acadiana area and pronounced like a stout beer or stout stature.

Ah, not sure if you know a Linda. Graduated from E.D. White. I'm in my late 40's so she's probably in her 50's by now.

20 years ago everyone at Nicholas wanted to play force bid 6. I hated that crap.

Cutthroat or follow suit was about 50/50.
I always stayed at the cutthroat tables.
