looking around 4-5 nights. Not all-inclusive. We like to explore rather than stay at one place the entire time. We are also going to Europe so i would like to keep it around/under 3500 between flight and hotel. Thanks for the h

I'm actually looking into the very same for April and Europe later in the year--- if you find anything good, let me know..

House in Pedregal if u can.

If not stay at the Me Cabo if your young and want fun

Pueblo Bonita Blanco or Rose are next door to the Me if you want a mellower scene

RUI Palace is a great all inclusive.

Go to Pink Kitty to party. No Where Bar also and the sushi spot in the marina

all I see is "this place is horrible I had to wait 10 minutes for a drink…" 3/4 of the "reviews" aren't very logical.

Most of the bad reviews are often either "Trip from hell" which can be ignored, or people who had the wrong expectations like singles at a family resort or vice versa. But a bad review can actually tell you that the place is exactly what you're looking for if it's detailed enough.

You might look for a message board dedicated to Cabo. I know when planning trips to Playa del Carmen in the past a local message board was pretty helpful in finding out things that Trip Advisor couldn't tell me.

Whatever you do, go to Rancho Pescadero (few miles out of Cabo). It is a small resort in the middle of nowhere and is amazing. Make their own tequila and are right on the beach.

we did this recommendation but you can't do anything unless you are a guest of the hotel. so unless you plan on staying there at $225 bucks a night then don't do it. however, the place is unreal. it's probably one of the most relaxing spots in the entire world. no action, no noise, no TVs, just the ocean, flowers, trees, pool, hot tub, great weather, good drinks & food

anyway, we just got back from Cabo in December. We stayed at Playa Grande. It's an awesome resort with top notch customer service. It's also only a 5 minute walk to the Marina. My suggestion to you is to stay ANYWHERE on the Marina. Outside of the marina is like staying in Metairie if you want to make a New Orleans trip. sure you can have a blast but it's inconvenient.

Also, if you can find a hotel that's directly on the Marina, I'd almost recommend that. You could still easily walk to the beaches. The food is AMAZING in Cabo…we ate at 5 mexican restaurants and all 5 are better than anything I've had in the states…food is super fresh, all organic, all local. pretty cheap too

search a few threads to get recommendations on restaurants…Alexander's was our favorite place…the clam chowder we ate that 3 times in a week
Also, the crazy lobster is great….they have 2 locations, hole in the wall…for 30 bucks you each get 3 lobster enchiladas, 2 margaritas, and 2 shots of tequila

Cabo was one of the few places where I wanted to go back immediately after leaving. A lot of places I enjoy the hell out of my time there, but once the vacation is over, I'm happy to be home.

Sunset cruise is a must. That was the best time of the trip. On paper, it doesn't look all that awesome, but once you get on the board, the staff is entertaining as hell, the food good and the drinks FLOW.

also, if you are a beer geek like me, Baja Brewing is a must stop. It's located on the 6th floor right off the beach and the beer is some of the best I've had…being serious here, I bought some at a local grocery store and brought it back to the states..this is the view from Baja Brewery:

Leaving in the morning for Cabo, staying at the Pueblo Bonito Cabo. Does Baja Brewing have tv's? Would like to go there and watch the Saints sat if they have it on.

I have heard this is a legit deal if you meet the restrictions. You have to go to a 90 minute time share meeting but get 6 days all inclusive for 2 for $399. You can check trip adviser for reviews. For what you save you can eat a great dinner every night...

I like to read the reviews, questions, and answers on Fodor's web site forums. Here is a link to one about Cabo:

You have to sift through them, but you can pick up some good information.

Get ready to arrive at the airport to armed military personnel and random checks. Next, you will enjoy a cab ride or shuttle ride to your resort (hopefully you are staying at one) as you look at some of the poorest third world conditions imaginable. It's okay though. You are staying in a resort!

That picture you took from Baja Brewing Co, is the site of the resort we stay at every year. Cabo Villas Beach Resort.

We love Cabo and go all the time. OP - stay in Medano Beach because it is one of the few swimmable beaches. There's tons of good food in and around the marina. Also lots of shopping for the yentas.

First things first....when you get into the airport, you will be hustled by timeshare people that offer you all this free shite for a 2 hour presentation. My advice would be to walk right through the room with stuff hanging from the ceiling (boats, nets, sharks) and walk right outside to the taxi area, grab yourself some beers at the outside bar and head straight to your hotel.

Taxis in town are VERY reasonable and are each about the same price. ALWAYS establish your price BEFORE you get inside.

As far as bars, you will find that Cabo is very small and all the bars are pretty much in one spot. We are not into the club scene, so I can only suggest bars we have been to.

Rip’s Bar sits right outside the back-entrance (exit) of Cabo Wabo, next to Jungle Bar. Awesome outdoor bar where everyone comes to chat and meet new friends.

Happy Ending Cantina is owned by a retired San Antonio firefighter; chill place with awesome bartenders and beer pong tables in the back.

Mandala is the new club, which can be fun for all ages. We went and had a few drinks just to people watch. Go up the roof to relax (pic shown in that link), the bottom floor is club

The other usual suspects are Cabo Wabo, Giggling Marlin and El Squid Roe …… all very touristy but always packed. Probably worth checking out just to say you’ve been! Mango Deck (below) is fun during the day to see contests and a live DJ/MC entertain the crowds, but this is where Medano Beach is and the peddlers I mention in my review

Nikki Beach at ME Cabo is a cool spot if the Miami/Vegas scene is your thing.

We always stay at Grand Solmar Land's End....read the reviews, they speak for themselves. It's on the Pacific side and you can't swim in the ocean, but I will tell you it's a DAMN GOOD trade-off from Medano Beach where walkaround vendors relentlessly peddle fake Oakleys, fedoras and any club drug you can imagine. You can walk to the "famous" arches (aka los cabos) and lover's beach at low tide, which we have done several times. Pics below. We have not been deep sea fishing so can't offer much advice there but we've heard it's amazing. There are Dune Buggy adventures, zip lines, deep sea fishing, top notch golf. Cabo is awesome...hope you guys have fun

For dining, there are some good recs from earlier posts. Hacienda Cocina y Cantina is an awesome spot that you can't afford to miss. Edith's and Mi Casa are also cool places that offer up a nice menu and tableside "Mexican Coffee" which is made with flaming tequila. One of our favorite spots is Los Barriles - pics of their special plate below.

Hacienda Cocina y Cantina

Edith's

Tacos Guss – quite possibly the best tacos anywhere. Super cheap, super fresh and they being you a huge caddy of toppings. Don’t miss this place! Cash only. And yes, that's the wife. frick OFF to those that have snide remarks.

Tres Gallos has an awesome patio and kick arse food...and STRONG drinks.

Javier's for a nice, elegant dinner and excellent service.

Sunset de Mona Lisa is a short drive out of town, but the food is average as best. The view is the best in Cabo however so it may be worth checking out if you can tolerate a moderate meal for not cheap.

El Farallon is our favorite spot in Cabo...food is awesome and $$$$ but worth every peso!

Maro's Shrimp House

Los Barriles has tablside dishes from Ceasar salad, to lobster to Mexican coffee

Hacienda Cocina y Cantina

If you are willing to put up with the vendors, then hit up The Office for breakfast and other meals....awesome stuff. The Mango Deck is next door and plays host to daytime shenanigans with an MC hosting various contests that aren't as cheesy as the shite you'd see in Cancun spring break.

The Office has their own glass bottom boat to take you over to see the arch up close and to Pelican Rock (and all the fish below you), it is only $5 per person if you eat there and show your receipt to the boat captain.

Mango Deck

Lorenzillo's overlooks the marina and has good lobster dishes although it is admittedly overpriced.

Nik San actually has some damn good sushi

Alexander Restaurant has some delicious authentic Mexican food (not tex-mex) that we always hit up. It is located on the Marina as well and is a great spot to people watch.

The Cabo Rey Sunset Cruise is touristy, but the food + show is awesome. Strongly recommend you do this if it's your first time here. You will NOT be disappointed.

Snorkeling is not the best, so just set your expectations if you elect to book a snorkel trip.

Last but not least, the sunrises and sunsets are some of the best you will see on the planet. Here is a photo we took that is NOT shopped.

Going next month - 1 night at Dreams, 3 nights at Secrets Marquis with a day pass at Zoetry. Plan on spending a day going on a whale watch tour and then hanging out at the marina.

If you are still undecided, contact a local travel agent. You shouldn't pay more to use one and you get their advice for free.

Then you know damn well that Grand Solmar is the shite. We stayed at their sister property Capella but found Grand Solmar more appealing.

We are going back in may with fiends. I will be stopping at taco guss.

Have you tried pollo de oro? Complete hole in the wall but all four of us ate with beer for under $30!!! A little off the beaten path.

Salvatore's is the best italian down there.

And further down the strip past cabo wabo is Tanga Tanga. Locals, cheap drinks and food and owned by Americans. We found this the last night on our last trip.

My wife wants me to add go to señor sweets in the marina
