Are you wanting all inclusive? What is your budget? We go 2-3 times a year and can pretty much let you know all you need to about Cabo.

Make sure you rent a car! Better rate if you book ahead of time.

Just stay at the One and Only Palmilla. You won't be sorry, and oh, don't forget to bring your American Express Black. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconPimp.gif)

Depends on what you want. Houston GG helped me out when we went in November. If you want to see Lands End, stay somewhere on Medano Beach. You can walk to most places and there is tons of stuff to do. If you want quiet but still close to town, stay in the Pedregal area, this is on the Pacific side. If you want to be close to the golf courses, stay in the Corridor. Whatever you do, I recommend going to Maro's Steak House. It is a dump but the food is inexpensive (New York Strip and Lobster Tail for $18) and good. Maro and his wife are good people and took great care of me and the Mrs.

Stayed at the Cabo Real Melia. It wasn't the fanciest, but good price,on the beach, activities/event each night, about 10 min from Cabo.

+1 on Maro's. There are college flags hanging all over the place. Cool spot for cheap but tasty food.
Next door is Los Barriles, which has awesome food as well. They cook at your table. They have a super huge plate for 2 that is $45 and it is a TON of food.

Sheraton Hacenda Del Mar is nice, if you are a golfer you MUST take the sticks to Cabo !!
We were just there in December. +1 on Hacienda Del Mar and golfing.
Also on renting a car. Drive to Todos Santos (home of original Hotel California) and/or to La Paz to swim with the Whale Sharks. Or just drive to Cabo marina, rent a water taxi, and go snorkling at Pelican Rock.

I stayed at Cerritos Surf Colony (about 50 miles northwest of Cabo on the Pacific side) last summer. I'm not sure if you're looking to get crazy or whatever, but this little place is secluded (for now) clean and quiet. The resort has options of no frills huts right on the beach, or a hacienda-style hotel on top of a cliff.
There's a little fishing village about 5 miles from there with a little bar and restaurant that is frequented by the old American ex-pats who (in large part) moved down from California after they retired.
My fiance (no pics) and I spent a week on the beach drinking whiskey and dos equis. Phones off, no computer, no TV.
With airfare it ran us about $2,000 for the week.

For my Honeymoon, we stayed at MeCabo by Melia Hotels. It was a younger crowd. I chose this because it was close to town, close to the marina, and on Nikki Beach. We visited the Sheraton and it was a little nicer, but farther away from town. I wanted to be close to restaurants and bars so we could explore. If you want all inclusive, which I really don't care for, there is Riu. Be sure to take a fishing trip. You tell them you want a case of Corona, a case of water and some joints and they will get it all ready for you when you chose to go fishing. Bring your catch to one of the marina restaurants, and they will cook it up for you. Also, make sure you do the ATV's through the desert and maybe a booze cruise.

Thinking of maybe going here this summer. So I take it this area is not like staying on the Caribbean side where everyone tells you to be very careful and not venture out from your property alone and at night?

Cabo is VERY safe. Tourism is their GDP so you can bet your arse the locals keep it safe. If not, they will not be able to feed their families if nobody comes to visit.
Are there shady areas, probably so. But every city on the planet has them....just stay in the main areas with all the bars, hotels and restaurants and you will be perfectly fine.
Cabo is a hotspot for celebrities, you think they would visit a dangerous locale?

It's pretty safe from what I saw. And my wife and I walked everywhere in town and by the marina. Like someone said, tourism and tourist are the major source of income for the residents, so they are fairly nice and helpful. They do sometimes ask you if you want weed or coke, mainly at night, but they don't get pissed if you say no.
