Yeah I read an article and the the guy from the state explained why the fish died, because of gas bubble disease. I’m not a scientist, but the explanation seemed fine.
Next year, the dam will be gone so they don’t anticipate any issues.
They also have another 3 million fish in the hatchery.

Agreed.
There really is no downside to dam removal and letting a river corridor return to its natural state. Especially if the dam no longer serves a purpose.
There’s always collateral damage when this stuff happens, but the long-term benefits outweigh it.
