Fauci, politicians, media personalities, all stating that masks, restrictions, and social distancing should still be required after vaccination since “you can still catch the virus” and continue to talk about the “new normal”.
Yea, you don't get the vaccine today and immediately stop wearing a mask.

It'll be based on numbers. That's not rocket science nor is it some crazy thing. Seems entirely logical IMO.

This is not a vaccine that 100% means you can't ever get the virus, so why would it not be based on the numbers?

Hell, for everyone in hospitals, don’t ever expect masks to ever go away.

That is likely a permanent fixture in medicine now.
Yea, probably not.

Why do you disregard all the comments by politicians, Fauci, and the media that this won’t get us back to normal?

Because he wants so bad for it to be true.

100% agree, and I've said that a bunch of times, actually also in debates with lsupride, coincidentally enough.

But I truly don't see how if what you think happens actually happens it would have no effect on your 2 little boys. This isn't just about restaurants. There would essentially be no place to take them, any fun place you'd normally take your kids would no longer exist.

Fauci said we would be back to normal when’s enough people the vaccine. He said we may not be back to normal this year because enough people won’t be willing to take it

So, yeh....

Really believe what? That the mandates in place will still persist after the vaccine has been administered? Fauci has already said that's what needs to be done.
We're not talking short term, we're talking long term.

Guys in here are basically saying if enough get the vaccine and we get to herd immunity and COVID case/death numbers are almost nonexistent, we will still long term have to wear masks everywhere and have restrictions and restaurants and other businesses shut down for reasons I'm still unclear about.

If they want people to stop doubting that they will reopen, why won’t someone come out and state that if we reach a certain percentage of vaccinated individuals, then all restrictions will be lifted?

Doesn't every state have a set of levels with specific data/numbers that need to be reached to go up or down in levels?

I've never heard anyone say we are going and staying on full blown economy destroying lockdown unless everyone gets the flu vaccine either.

What gives?
Everything you just said is not relevant. The poster I replied to originally said nothing about that, he only pointed out survival rate, so nothing you said is of any substance to that part of the discussion.

It was the first small scale vaccination safety trials. It was used in varying dosages to determine the best dosages.

The information from that first safety trial led to Pfizer (and its partner firm) to not use the highest dosages due to strong immune response reactions.

Nature - Phase I/II study of COVID-19 RNA vaccine BNT162b1 in adults

So by March/April, we'll have safety data for a year on varying dosages in a number of people (not a huge number as it was an early study).

That's fine.

Just know down the road you'll be the one complaining that we're not back to normal when you'll be the reason we're not back to normal.

As long as you're good with that, then go ahead and take those chances.

Stop

The idea that restaurants will be closed or only do takeout or very limited capacity forever, sporting events will have little to no fans, and concerts will just never happen again is just silly, no clue why you'd try to imply that.
