Two buddies and I fly up Monday from AZ to another friend's ranch just outside Telluride, CO for some social distancing and a little R&R. All three guys are pilots and we flew up in friend's beautiful Beechcraft Bonanza (it sure beats flying commercial). Friend in CO ranches 500+ acres and advises us to buzz his property before landing at the small regional airport 20 minutes away. Pretty cool pics and video of us doing a flyover at approx. 100' with a beautiful mountain backdrop. Unfortunately the video cut off a little prematurely.

That airport is butt-puckering.

Jealous of your buddy. The ranch land around the San Juans is probably the prettiest spot in all of the United States. It's probably worth a pretty penny - I'd hate to know what his property taxes are.

Didn't fly into Telluride Regional- flew into Nucla Hopkins Field in Montrose County and there was a slight crosswind but not a bad landing at all. My buddy grew up in Telluride and said the home that he grew up in in downtown Telluride (his mom still lives there in the summer) is now worth $5.5 million. Just a beautiful area.

I usually go to the Bluegrass or Blues & Brews festival each year with some family. Just a simple 3BR AirBnB downtown is several grand for a weekend; not to mention the general cost of everything. I like to fly in to Durango and make the drive from there, it's an incredibly beautiful route. I still get nervous going up 145 on the approach, as a Southerner vast depths intimidate me a lot.

When I want to be sad, I just look up zillow listings there. Maybe one day I can blow 450k on some shitty studio.

We fly up there every year, not happening this year but his birthday is June 18 and he will have a bluegrass band playing at the ranch. Dierks Bentley is a friend of his and quarantining in Telluride and may make a guest appearance. Truly God's Country up there.
