Buying Used Car Advice

The wife is looking for a used Honda Pilot, either a 2016 or 2017. It seems they are selling pretty fast right now because when I call dealers some are gone but still listed on websites. Am I going to have to break down and pay their asking price or will I be able to get at least some off? Any tricks when dealing with higher demand used cars?

You can always get something off. For that new of a model year it's going to be tough to get much though.

How much price difference could their be between a 2017 and new 2018?

OT ballers are already driving 2020 concept models. Sorry for your poorness.

Just wait for 0% interest on a new model if the car you want seems to be selling fast on the used car market. Whether it be a personal car or farm vehicle, we never carry a note unless it's 0% intererst financing.
Paying off an interest note on a depreciating asset makes no sense at all.

You will likely end up paying the same for a new one.
Look to pick up one that was leased

Every seller deals except for a few places like Carmax that advertised as no-haggle price.
Honda Pilot for sure isn't that hot selling or short on supply that you can't get a decent discount.
