CAD and Roadger have been sold and don't care about anyone with experience that don't agree with them. Pretty useless thread.

CAD is the only one in this thread not being an internet mouth breather because I actually left my basement, read the NTSA studies and purchased a set of tires including pics.

Everyone else wants to be cool and laugh about 18 Wheeler debris when they are the fools for not taking the time for themselves to actually read.

you disagree 20 people haven't responded to this thread by citing 18 Wheeler debris as proof of retread problems?

They know nothing and opened their mouth anyway.

Cad is also the one who has very little real world experience with his retreads and a whopping $150 in savings. Why don't you give it some time before gloating and assuming we're all dumb for spending a little more for the safety of ourselves and our families and for a warrantied product.

My son has been running his for a couple months without any problems which is why I became interested in the first place. You don't read much do you?

That still doesn't take away from any of the points I've made in this thread. Congrats on saving less than $100 and not having a tire warranty.

And how many miles does he have on them?

I'm not trying to call you out as wrong. That verdict cannot be delivered until you experience a failure.

My argument is that if you're looking to save money, look elsewhere. You could easily find something else in your life to cutback on that would net the same or more savings. $100-$200 every few years isn't worth it when you look at the potential risks (liability) retread tires for personal use come with.

CAD just bought a fixer-upper he can't afford. Has to save money somewhere to replace the termite damage.

Nice try stout but my cheap stories go back from the time I joined this site and before I ran into your CoD team on-line in the weirdest coincidence ever.

Tirerecappers.com warranty

quote:

We will refund the price of our tires on a pro-rated basis after going
through the RMA (Return Material Authorization) process of forwarding
pictures to TRN’s RMA department.
We inspect all of the tires we sell to our customers before shipping and
and feel that (2) or (4) tires shipped cannot be faulty all at one time.

RMA’ed tires must be inspected and photographed within the first 30
days or 500 miles of use.

Uniformity Warranty: 6 Months / first 1/32” wear

Workmanship & Materials of the
Retreading Process Warranty:
2 Year / Free replacement first 12
months or 25% of tread (whichever
occurs first), then prorated to the final
2/32” of tread.

Can anyone tell me what the site he bought his tires from is offering, warranty wise, here?

Sears tells you their Roadhandlers are warrantied for 100K miles

The RoadHandler All Season tire uses advanced technology to provide impressive performance all year on your car, sedan, or crossover SUV . Few tires will last longer than the RoadHandler with it's 100,000 mile tread warrranty.

please cite one single study that backs this up.

Go on.

I'll wait.

A rubber/steel tire carcass ages and degrades with time alone and time in service.

Anything with a finite life has an increased risk of failure the longer it is in service.

I wonder why the passenger car tire retreading industry has not taken over the world by storm? There are enough used tires available for retreading?

Surely even new car manufacturers would jump at the chance to save $500 per car at the point of sale?

I guess it's just misinformation and prejudice against retreaded tires...

you have bigger safety issues than me if you run any tire 100k miles.

you think Michelin wants to sell you a tire that can be reused when they can sell you a new one?

Good enough for air force one, good enough for CADs 20 year old 4runner.

Not Michelin, maybe some other company. Seems like an untapped market. Maybe Tire recappers of Nashville could go nationwide?

If they ran out of tires for retreading they could probably even afford to dig up old tires in landfills? I mean the carcass is good forever right?

I'm 49 and have never once had a warranty come into play on a battery or tires when they wore out.

Historical records show I paid $700 and $900 for the last 2 sets of 4runner tires despite lunchbox posting those shitty looking internet tires he says would only be $500 or so.

I'm happy with my decision.

If it goes south I promise to report back. I am not too proud to eat a little crow.

But so far nobody and I mean NOBODY in 12 pages has cited a single study saying retreads are bad.
