Buying an iPhone at Best Buy vs AT&T

If you buy an iPhone at Best Buy, does it save you from signing up on the next plan?
the next plan seems like such a scam. We signed up for a 30 month plan so we aren't eligible for a trade in until we make 24 payments. So they forgive you for six damn payments. What a deal....
Are there any options to save you from the next plan?

I don't know about AT&T but I recently tried doing business with a Verizon store. They try to frick you like a car salesman. I suggest buying online moving forward as suggested.

one way or the other they will get their money. Either you pay NEXT monthly for the phone, you get the old type prices but pay more for the monthly service or you ball out, walk in and pay FULL retail for the phone. ( we just bought my MIL a full price 6s+ $930 with tax)

So you can't go to a Best Buy and pay $299 for a new phone then. Whoever thought the next plan was a good idea can kick rocks.
I'm convinced it was created to appeal to the 16 year old dipshits who insist on getting new phones anytime the latest model comes out.

1. you can but you will pay more for the monthly connection to your service, same as it always has been. It's for example $15 per line if you have next or your phone was purchased at FULL retail. Or you can get the $299ish phone and your monthly line fee will be $40 and not $15.
2. All next is is a 0% financing plan for the full priced phone. Before you were still paying for the phone at $299 PLUS it was being subsidized by the extra $25 a month for the line.
3. All of the options are pretty close in price. I think they are just trying to separate the phone from the plan for some reason.

You can only avoid the next plan by going to the AT&T store. But they will try to get you on Next there too. Be strong my friend.

You don't have to use next plan. You can buy the phone for $800

You could always get the phone at an Apple store under their upgrade plan. 0% loan basically. Can get the new iPhone each year and have AppleCare coverage included. And the phone is unlocked so you can go to any carrier with the phone.

Depends on the phone you want.
I got a 6s plus 64gb rosegold.....$42 a month
But that includes AppleCare coverage on the phone.
Was really easy to do. Took less than 10 minutes and I was walking out the door with a new iPhone.

There is a tech board.

I bought an unlocked brand new Samsung for $500 and ordered a straight talk Sim card (that uses AT&T towers).
I estimated that I saved about $700 doing it this way.
I only pay $45/month for unlimited everything which covers what I need. I'm sure I don't use all the "unlimited" data that is allowed.

I just got done posting about this on the tech board. Here's the deal, there are no more subsidized phones. Either pay the full price or pay it off over time.
From what I can see the phones cost the same everywhere. I bought my 64g 6s at Costco and got a $150 Costco gift card.

To do the buy one, get one deal you need to add an additional line.
