You ain't shite unless you're pulling your zero turn around with a lifted F250 blowin black smoke, yeti'd out, with Costa's, baw.

Yes, I sell the Gravely residential line it not as good as the other lines at that price point. Very overpriced for what you get. I sell a few just to keep the volume you have to take on as a dealer to Gravely fan. I see a lot of dealer unless they have volume leaving them due to they want you to buy a lot more inventory than the competition and residential line basically overpriced. As far as value other brands have better pricing, and better quality at the entry level price point.
You are paying for the name and lack of the dealer financially being able bringing on better line to fill this void.
As a dealer are you trying to throw junk in the market place or give your customer the best value for the dollars they want or can spend.
A good dealer will have many lines and always keep the best options no matter what brand at certain price points. A lot of dealers do not have the option larger dealers have as it comes down to money along with a strong customer base to move product off floor plans.

Do lawnmower dealers let you pay per mo. to pay it off?

I suggest a Hustler. All the metal on it is heavy gauge, sits low to the ground (good for mowing under trees). I've had mine since 2008 and have had to replace the belt one time. No other repairs. Oh yeah, I mow 5 acres so I'd say that's pretty good evidence of a good machine.
I know a yard guy who probably has bought five different brand mowers over the last thee years looking for the "right one". I tried to tell him but he was a little slow to learn. Saw him Friday and we got to talking about his mower experiences. He said he now owns two Hustlers and is no longer looking.
I told him "listen to your elders next time".

Most dealers have in- house financing.

I haven't stepped foot into a lawnmower dealership, but I assume in-house or third party financing is available to those that qualify.
If in-house, I would think there would be some room to negotiate on the price of a lawnmower, since the in-house, i.e. lawnmower dealership is taking a chance on the fact that you'll pay them back and/or having to wait for their money, especially when interest rates are so low vs. having a customer pay in full.
If third-party financing, I could see lawnmower dealership would stick to their pricing, since their payment is "guaranteed."
At least that is whaf I think in my mind, but others (johnnyrocket) are certainly more versed and experienced with this.

Pro-Power on Airline sticks to their pricing, I got $100 knocked off a Hustler Raptor SD during a Spring tent sale 4 years ago when all the dealers are there. They offer 0 down 0% for three years thru Sheffield financial. 3 year 300 hour warranty. Its a no brainer.
And I will say that although Pro-Power caters to a large commercial clientele, They have always serviced my mower pretty quickly(within a week-although they always quote you way longer)

I have a Kubota ZG 227 and love it!

I bought a Toro Timecutter 2160 (may be wrong with the number) from a dealer in Denham Springs (Dave's Equipment on back side of Antique Village) three years ago and have 0 Complaints. Other than a warranty part and having to trailer it there, it runs like a top and cuts great.
I debated going with something more heavy duty but for a residential yard, this thing has been great!

I bought a Husqvarna MZ52 model with kawasaki earlier this year and I love it.
It actually came in a package with a weedeater and chainsaw as well.
I've noticed almost all of the husqvarna dealers sell these packages that are usually really good deals if you need any implements.
I bought mine from SLE Equipment with no tax and 225 shipping, but it was a much better price than I could find locally.
Another dealer I've seen advertise on facebook a lot is Safford Equipment, which is in Alabama, but they have some great package deals on Husqvarna and a few other brands.
The MZ52 I have is an excellent prosumer model. It has welded deck, but it also has the servicable hydro motors. Most of the consumer and some of the prosumers have the hydros that have to be completely replaced at ~1000 each when they go out.
This blog post is what sold me on this mower, and i got it for well under 5K, despite the title.
The Best Zero Turn Mower Under $5000 for 2017 is the MZ52

I have the ZD1211-72" diesel and I cut about 10 acres with it and it is a beast. I have a diesel skid tank so everything I have is diesel or going to diesel. Buy in Texas if you have a couple acres and pay no sales tax. You will get a Texas Agricultural Permit.
