You're going to break down around mile 550.

Enjoy your stay in Johnson City, TN.

Those 26' uhauls drive fairly well, TBH... drove one from BR to Knoxville last month and it wasn't too bad, I for the most part just found some trucks going the speed I wanted and cruised along with them.

I drove a 26' Penske truck from Washington DC to Baton Rouge in December. Was snowing when we left

When we wen to pick up the truck they told us that they rented the 15' out so they gave us a "free upgrade"

All the stuff we had laid flat in the truck. Not a single thing stacked

This.

I drove for our move, but we hired movers in both places for two hours of help loading/unloading the heavy stuff. Worth every penny.

I would like to hear more about this part of the story. I would be absolutely livid.

Check out the Penske trucks from Home Depot. Might save some money.

Get a quote from Upack. May not be much more than the Uhaul.

Just did this a couple of weeks ago in Baton Rouge. Rented the truck from U-Haul.com then reviewed quotes and booked contract movers through the same site.

We got a couple of college students who did a great job. Would definitely do again.

The more to the story: they called and said they had to move pickup to Saturday and instead of 3 day delivery it'll take 14 business days. I need to leave today and need my shite by monday so I am driving this bitch. Worst part is i live downtown philly and have no permit to park this truck... so i'm sure i will get a huge fine for blocking a street for 3 hours.

Getting it out of philly is the hard part. I live in area with tiny streets and fricking cars parked in any manner. After the first 2 miles the drive will be a breeze

Don't pay it, what are they going to do, hunt you down in Mississippi?

Don't take that as legal advice. Please.

This. If you have AAA, the Penske trucks are way cheaper than Uhaul.
