Something is seriously wrong with this zoo. BREC tried to move it to the State Fairgrounds on Airline Hwy and that met huge resistance and fell through. BREC has plenty of land where the zoo is presently located to expand and improve the zoo and I have seen the plans but it appears that the project is stalled. I believe that the Age of Zoos are over and that Baton Rouge does not deserve to have a zoo. To many innocent animals are dying there for avoidable reasons.
