The Walmart in Broussard may be the nicest and cleanliest Walmart in Louisiana. The one on Pinhook and Verot isn't terrible on a weekday before 11am. Walmart serves a purpose for our household and grocery needs, and I'm not above stepping foot in one to get items. Just never between 11am-7pm.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of watching an altercation at the bus stop in front of Cortana Walmart. After some very loud discussion the lady came after the guy with a legit ham-fisted windmill, scoring a couple of strikes, only to have him pull a gun and pistol whip her until she was flat out on the pavement. Holy moly...my last time shopping there.

Was he in the wrong? He was a skinny little twig. She was really trying to f*** him up, and clearly had the mass and adrenaline to achieve it. Probably could've been handled in a more gentlemanly way though.

I don’t know how people live on Bluebonnet Extension. You’re not really close to anything and everything near you is shared with the ghetto.

I helped open that store. When I walked in it was just walls and a ceiling. Once it got going I could tell it was gonna be a shitshow.

Girlfriend lives near this Walmart so I go there on the reg and compared to most it’s fairly nice. Hell, one of the greeters, Mr. Murphy, and I chitchat briefly every time I go in there and he’s working. Almost feels like a local store.

Nearly any Walmart you go to around town is going to have moments of sketchiness depending on the time you go.

I shop at that Walmart occasionally and always go before noon. The culture is still in the bed.

The Walmart on Pines road in Shreveport should have a probation and parole office substation inside of it. Legendary Bad.

Gulf front Wal-mart in Galveston on a summer weekend afternoon.

And its not close.

Take all the stereotypes mentioned, but mix them all together. You have the local ghetto culture and their arch nemesis, Hispanic island royalty. A parking lot full of F-250's with plant baws and their whole family on vacation, a healthy cross section of the above mentioned who are semi-homeless, the bath salts militia, the strippers on meth contingent, the Eastern European 20 somethings living 12 to a unit in the apartment complex behind the Wal Mart who are in town for the summer to fill service industry positions, and rich suburban types on their way to the west end and their $15K a week beach rental with 12 kids and $2k of items in four carts looking like they are rethinking all of their life choices up to that point

I have been there at these times on three different occasions. After the first time, I swore I would never go back. The next two times, I only went because a bunch of buddies and I had been day drinking and we were there as spectators. It did not disappoint.

There are always 2-3 cop cars in the parking lot with lights flashing. And there is a Sonic in front of the parking lot.

4 kids and astronomical grocery prices is why I go there … I’ve done grocery pickup for at least 10 years now. I use the neighborhood Walmart on airline in PRairieville. Ron takes care of us every week. One of the best employees I’ve ever encountered in my life. He’s like family to us. Inside the store is fine too, but I try my best not to ever go inside if I can help it.

I often wonder if it would be cool to have an app tracker of some kind to let people in the whole country enter in how many dirty diapers and fast food bags are found in the Walmart parking lots.
