So I'm having dinner this evening with wife (no pics) We are seated by the window. I notice an older couple leaving and being accosted by bum on bicycle asking them for money. I suggest to the waiter he go outside and make sure those old people are ok. He says he can't do anything, and the guy is there all the time. I tell him great, instead of leaving a tip, I'll give it to the bum. Was that wrong?

No, because he rubbed his nuts on your dish in the back before bringing it to your table.

Totally worth you giving your $5 to the bum.

Why didn’t you go outside to help the couple?

You wanted your waiter to go outside and police public space (which he has no legal authority over). And then you get upset that he says no and want to take it out of his tip. You seem like an a-hole.

Time to start with a fresh name. Make an alter if your emotionally attached to this one but your continual shitty posting needs a break.

It's not the waiter's fault. I wouldn't take it out on him.

Yeah, it was wrong. It’s no more the waiters responsibility than it is yours, to go confront that bum.

It’s not the waiter’s responsibility to be in charge of parking lot security, Billy Badass.

Yes, in multiple ways.

First, your request was absurd. You requested that someone who is not yourself go and confront another person. That is flat-out bizarre. If it was your wife asking you to confront someone, that's one thing. But you asking your waiter to do it? That weird and it would put the waiter and his employer at risk.

Second, your response to being gently told that your request was stupid was to suggest that you would do something that would exacerbate the problem that you wanted solved.

You're one strange mofo.

So because you were too big of a pussy to do anything you thought the waiter should lose his job dying on your hill. When he refused you used it as an excuse to give him $0 dollars but give the bum considerably less thus saving you money?

Considering none of this happened you did nothing wrong.

There is a decent chance the waiter would be fired if he did that.

I gave a bum 5000 pesos the other morning outside a Juan Valdez coffee shop. After I got my coffee he asked me for more money. I told him. I already have you a buck fifty. For some reason that upset me.

Is it pubic space? I am guessing the business probably leases it.
