Why does it work elsewhere then? People are debating the merits of solutions as if they haven’t been tried and true.

This isn’t a “hm what if?” exercise. It’s a “let’s do what another country has done” exercise.

Czech Republic has as many as 30% of it's population possessing a carry permit. Switzerland has no barrel length restrictions and allows new full auto for even as you g as 18. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania allow assault weapons and handguns.
You'd be surprised at what countries particularly in former Warsaw pact nations and of the aforementioned nations only Switzerland rival our quality of life.

By way of comparison South America is host to nations with strict gun control yet they surpass the US in voilent crime.

Apparently the gun isn't the issue. Objects never are the issue. They don't plan to attack anyone nor do they operate autonomously.

I refer you back to my comment about the useless F B I. The Colorado shooter was known to them. They practically allowed him to do what he did. Already, with this one, it is being said that he was known to them, as well.

*laughs in Gretchen Whitmer kidnaping fiasco*

Hell in that one the FBI brought in all the people, coordinated the meetings, coordinated the kidnaping..then at the last minute went "OMG LOOK WHAT THESE GUYS WERE GOING TO DO TO THIS SO VERY MUCH INNOCENT DEMOCRATIC BELOVED GOVERNOR*

Savage axis is a solid gun, they were damn near giving them away at walmart about 21/2 years ago for like 67 dollars, and I had two in my hands but didn’t like the calibers so only bought one but still kicking myself for not buying them both. That said, very odd choice, i assume he had at least a 308 or 30-06 with that many dead. The axis is really a deer rifle designed for 50 yard to 150 yard shots like a ruger American, Remington 700 series etc.

It’s a wonder someone didn’t jump him as he was reloading or something, probably only time axis was every used like this. Can’t blame savage this is a pure entry level or better hunting gun.

If that manifesto is real then he had a savage axis which is a bolt action rifle.

Again assuming the manifesto was correct he had an AR, a shotgun, and the Axis. He used the Ar at least initially as his primary weapon shown in the still from the stream.

And if it was a Ruger instead? Would the media reporting be the same?

saja knockoffshotgun and AR, there we go, that’s makes much sense.

street sweeper would absolutely be the best to start with but has rarely if ever been used for that despite it being designed for it. (They are expensive and kinda hard to find)

How do you not understand the difference between the two. Inner city violence is a problem. You can avoid those areas. Mass shootings at schools, concerts, theaters, food markets, highways, churches, bars, restaurants…those are public places where you SHOULD have no expectation that you’re going to be gunned down.

Second, both are issues. We can reduce one. Let’s not solve “A” because “B” will still happen is idiotic.

Sorry to make fun of you man, but the 80's called and they want their shotguns back.

Much better tactical shotguns available these days than a street sweeper.

Objects aren’t the issue. You’re right. Not having an adequate licensing process and effective checks like those countries you mentioned is the issue.

I agree. At least enforce the current requirements or fire the people who are incompetent.

Now we are getting to one of the main roots of the issue.

So do I have you down for agreeing that we need Voter IDs for all states, both national and local elections?

Just want to make sure you're consistent in your qualifications for licensing of a constitutional right.
