BRPD Officer Suspended 5 Days for Shooting Dog

This is really a non-story, but I figured the OT would like it for some afternoon entertainment.

After reviewing evidence, Chief Carl Dabadie initially suspended Wilson for ten days. Wilson appealed that decision on Thursday, February 16 and the civil service board reduced the suspension to five days.
The details surrounding the alleged shooting have not yet been made public. According to Baton Rouge city-parish records, Wilson has been an officer with BRPD since July 30, 2012.

My ex was an animal control officer for a few years. She shot zero dogs. Had to call a CO to take some overzealous rookies off of the scene twice.
Some departments offer dog training, but almost all do not. It really isn't that hard to not shoot a dog

I wouldn't go after someone's family, but I could easily see myself killing someone in a fit of rage if they purposefully killed one of my dogs without provocation. Outside of family and a small number of close friends, I care more about my dogs than any human that I have no connection to.

Was sitting out in the court room lobby waiting to testify, surrounded by 8 BRPD officers shooting the breeze, not sure of the context but one said "District 6 has a LOT..his emphasis..dog killers in it."

For the record no officer I know calls districts, District 1 or District 2. Instead they say it's 3rd District or 4th District so you must like to make up stories because you didn't hear that unless you maybe heard some Sheriff's Deputies talking. EBRSO wears green, BRPD wears gray and navy or just navy.
