because the officer violated police department policy by putting his gun to Sterling's head and telling Sterling he was going to "f*cking kill" him
Yea, can’t do that.
Salamoni has a lot of hate built up in his head. He should go work for Trump’s security detail.

Get your trolling arse out of here
Pretty sure he’s required to warn the perp before using lethal action. Sounds like that requirement was met

How can anyone in their right mind not think this killing was justified? If you think the killing was unjust then you are part of the problem in today's society.

Not by telling him he’s going to fricking kill him. He must have missed the conflict resolution class at cop school.

Are you upset about ALton?
Posted on 3/27/18 at 6:51 pm to TigersSEC2010
I would imagine if he isn't fired, he will resign. I would imagine at this point he is sticking it out since we all know Broome stick will make sure Chief Paul fires him. That's an easy lawsuit for him to win (although he will prob have to give some of it over the the "Gentle Giant's family" in their civil case)

What is supposed to say?
Excuse me sir, if you don’t calm down I’m going to have to use my weapon on you, I’d prefer not to do so, but ya know, you’re being a real pain?

he should wait to file suit until the suit os filed against him.

I’m sure there are proper procedures to deescalate these types of problems that does not include putting a gun to a guys head and telling him that he’s going to “fricking kill” him.

Probably not a bad idea, that way he can sue BR for more money. If I was Blaine, I'd sue the city, the mayor, the new police chief, counter sue the family, etc.

You must have missed in the report where Blaine didn't pull the gun until after Alton started resisting, then after saying that, he listened for about 10 seconds before turning around and resisting again. At that time, Blaine tells Lake to use the taser. He did, twice. I guess ALL the facts of the case don't matter though

Isn't Louisiana and AT WILL employment state? meaning they legally don't need a reason to fire him? Or does civil service supersede that?

First, he never "put a gun to a guy's head."
Second, he did not roll up to the scene and yell this. This only occurred after Sterling resisted arrest TWICE.
The pointing the gun is completely a non-issue. That's standard procedure when dealing with a known-armed suspect who is actively resisting.
The only issue is the "fricking kill you" comment. And as I said in the other thread, I would be shocked if there is any precedent that it amounts to a fireable offense.

If St Alton only complied he'd be alive in jail today or selling CDs and committing more crimes if he got Trudy White as a judge.

RIP gentle giant. We will never forget your contribution to this great city. you showed us life and now you live through us

Last week Cincinnati had to pay over $300K to the police officer they fired after he was charged in the killing of an unarmed black motorist. He actually went on trial twice (two hung verdicts), when the charges were dismissed he sued.
