I'm no fan of SWB by any stretch, but this is a reasonable move.
I agree with this.
The issue I have is tripling the number of deputies for a city this small.

Yeah, this will be a clusterfrick, but it's what the voters wanted. I'm sure there were all kinds of political and possibly racial reasons this move was made, but the reasoning they used is perfectly adequate too.

The 3 new poohbahs are going to be expensive. This will probably lower funding available to have cops on the street. South BR needs to pony up some more tax money so Plank road can get more coverage.
How is the St. George thing going? The coming cries for new taxes should jump start it.

Nothing surprising here. Guessing DOJ starts investigating the department for corruption around March 2019.

I don't recall the people voting to expand the number of deputies. It sounds like the deputy's position handles a lot of things but I doubt he's taking all those tasks on by himself.

Those will be his three highest years which is what his retirement will be based off. Doesn't matter how long ago it was, his highest pay rate will be his retirement rate.

I'm talking about the decision to vote in SWB who ran on a major shake up with the department. This is her leadership.

According to the report put together by Broome’s transition team, whitey is to blame for pretty much everything wrong with BR.

Black Baton Rouge leaders are just itching to turn Baton Rouge into Memphis.

I don't think expanding administrative positions in the department is what they had in mind

The new police chief will be Murphy Paul, a yes man that Broome specifically sought out and encouraged to apply. You can bet that at least 2 of the 3 deputy chiefs will be black as well.

Broome rejecting Dabadie's suggestion to name him chief followed by her hand picked guy demoting him leads me to believe Broome wanted him out.

Yeah there is likely some politics being played. I'm just suggesting that the logic of letting the new chief select his deputies is fine.

This is happening in Law Enforcement agencies all over America. Identity politics rules the day.

I said this in another thread. Good luck, y’all!

Not only that, how are they going to pay for these big new salaries? BR already is taxed the highest for the lowest amount of services in the country.
If you create positions and hire people they have to be paid.

The racism claims hurled at an all black police force will be entertaining
