Can you imagine some of the students they admitted from grade inflated shite public schools and no standardized test scores?
Sitting next to some genius Asian that had to submit a completely perfect ACT.

Brown University, where parents drop their sons and pick up their daughters four years later.

Found the liberal. Blame everyone for everything. FYI, Khan Academy SAT Prep is completely free. SAT prep books are free at the library. It’s not a money issue.

Their flexible curriculum allowing students to choose their course of study is a pretty good idea.
I don’t like it. You end up with English majors who’ve never read Shakespeare, or Beowulf, and have no understanding of the origins of Western civilization. A classical education was designed to start with our ancient cultural roots, and then walk you through the millenia so you would understand where we came from, who we are, and why we are the way we are.

My grandson is from a “not wealthy” family and made a 35 out of 36 on his ACT. They live in North Carolina. Even with a great GPA and great ACT score, he still couldn’t get accepted to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is of Swedish descent. I guess they already had their quota of dumb Swedes.

File this under "No shite, Sherlock". Who knew a 15 on the ACT meant you probably weren't college material.

Exactly. Brown is not prestigious. Vanderbilt is a better school, for instance.

If you don’t think a tutor helps I dont know what to tell you. Money helps most problems. its why people want it

You know who went to Brown? Emma Watson.

There is some truth here.
I recall tutoring while at Tulane.
Tulane kids are generally 30+ ACT.
Lots of these kids were fricking morons.
The only way they scored that high had to be prep courses.
There needs to be some standardized testing. But, I don't know how this issue is best addressed.

My kid made a 31 on the ACT without even thinking about the test until the night before.
I did the same and made a 29.
Must be that "white privilege" I hear so much about.
