Nounions can be fixed with surgery. if she cant run, then she didnt get a proper surgery.

Special kinda stupid, aren’t you? It’s take awhile for bone to heal and your dumbass went wake boarding, etc?

When I returned to the doctor, my foot was 100% healed. I hope this was helpful.

Doctor says to wear the boot the entire time.
Dude wears it fricking 5 mins and now is pissed he has to have surgery because he didn’t listen. Dumbass.

I never said i was pissed. I certainly hold no ill will toward the doctor. He's a great doctor.

I’m just trying to figure out the thought process of “damn I broke my foot a week ago, wake boarding sounds like a damn fine plan.”

The Wake boarding wasnt until the week of the 2nd X-Rays. At this point, There was no swelling, no discoloration, and little to no pain.
I will admit to never wearing it to sleep, and often walking, with the boot, for 20 minutes or more within airport terminals.

This is the only advice I have for you and I'm not a doctor. Tell your IV drug using, Haitian boyfriend to stop wearing a condom.

This is a timely topic...I just got out of a boot on June 20th. Was sitting in a recliner and my foot fell asleep. I thought it had enough feeling and walked on it. I had an avulsion fracture about midfoot.
I did exactly what the Dr ordered... elevated, iced, Aleve, stayed off of it when possible and wore the boot religiously! 11 weeks, completely healed.
Like an earlier poster, I still deal with swelling when I wear my regular sized shoes but other than that, I'm good to go.
Dr knew what he was talking about... why else would you go see one?

Gonna let a minor fracture cause you to post up on social media looking for advice. Yeah, kicking arse alright.

At this point just tape a pop sickle stick to the next adjacent toe and call it good.

I think this thread has gotten off track. It isnt about my failure to follow doctors orders. I am aware of what got me here. I am just asking if anyone has any knowledge gained through similar experiences.
Posted on 7/21/19 at 9:24 pm to FightingTigers138
They'll probably make your dumb arse wear a cast. Anyone else can get a boot though.

This happened to my cousin, 3 months later, boom, herpes.

It kinda is though. Your inability to follow helpful advice is what got you here. Now you're asking for more advice, which is essentially what you did when you went to the Dr.

Why? You wouldnt listen to a Dr. so why would you listen to some random jackass you dont know from a message board?
And hes for sure going to put you in a cast. You already proved you cant be trusted to wear the damn boot.

No. I asked, "what can I expect"?

Again, I never asked for advice. Learn to read.

Dr kept me in a boot for 3 1/2 months. He said surgery was an option but I was young enough to heal it. It would have taken 2 surgeries. One to put the plate in and one to remove it.
Your Dr. doesn’t sound terribly bright.
The OP may still be able to heal the fx. It sounds almost like his PCP or an urgent care doc was managing it to begin with (if he/she is sending you elsewhere), which means who the hell knows if it’s actually displaced. Gap widening is a normal xray finding at 4 weeks. You should have worn the boot, but because you’re an idiot the doc may recommend surgery. Depending on the location of the fracture, post op protocol may differ. But an aggressive surgeon will still have you off it for a couple of weeks, but then back to the boot for a month and transitioning to regular shoes around 6 weeks after surgery. Patients usually aren’t comfortable with starting high impact until 10-12 weeks post op. But you’re walking quickly and back in shoes faster than someone who was put in a boot for 3.5 months...
