I find it curious that everyone here makes fun of Morris Bart and all the ambulance chasers but at least a dozen people are advising the parent of this boy to sue the daycare over what was probably one of those accidents that just happens without malice or neglect

Because every lawsuit in the courthouse is frivolous except your own. It’s a pretty common phenomenon.

Happened too my now almost 30 year old son when had was 18 or 19 months old. Slipped on socks on a hardwood floor in our home. He had a spiral fracture. Was in traction for a week and then the same type of general anesthesia to set the leg and cast it. Was in a hip spica cast that basically immobilized his broken leg and allowed him to move his other leg but really from the knee down. There was a cutout for a diaper.

No fun. But they are tougher than they seem. He wore the cast for six weeks. Had to learn how to walk all over again. He did learn how to peg leg behind a push toy with the cast and was walking again within a few days of it being removed

My kid had a broken arm at 3, and was in a cast for about 2 months. Go ahead and prepare to feel like y’all have returned to a newborn’s sleep schedule until that thing comes off. Melatonin helps.

This happened to my daughter when she was 11 from a horse accident. Same surgical procedure, no incision. Cast on for 6 weeks. She was a champ. I took her on a trip to Kentucky to visit a friend. We went to Churchill downs and she got the VIP treatment because her injury was horse related.
She is good as new.
Good luck.

Sadly, we have a good deal of experience to share with 3 daredevil kids. I think we are at 7 visits? Skiing(x2), sledding, football, jumping off sofa, daycare accident (yep), zipline... it's always fun having to answer questions from the people in suits while at the ER, as if a sledding injury when there's snow is a damn mystery.

Our daughter had a nasty twisting break while on the lake. Barely missed surgery and growth plates, but they did have to put her under to reset it, x-ray, reset. She was so brave after the initial scare, it was amazing. She was in a wheelchair for a few months, but was able to get around at home once they let her. You will likely have to temper the speed at which your kid wants to get moving. Our daughter had a spill because she was trying to get into chair from sofa by herself early on, and she fell and shifted the bone. ACK. It wasn't enough to require surgery, and he was back at gymnastics and soccer as soon as she was allowed by the doctor. She really didn't miss a beat, but did require physical therapy/rehab for a year to build the strength back and work on straightening out the foot on the leg that broke. She was a trooper.

Kids are resilient, often moreso than parents!

Do you know how hard it is for a three year old to break a femur?

Ouch. I broke my femur in two places, worst pain I’ve ever felt.

How does that even happen?

I don't wonder that about broken bones in toddlers. I do wonder that about toddlers dropped on their head multiple times like you apparently were.
