Aka drawing attention.

I'm not saying it's wrong or malicious or anything. I just said it was weird.

Yes, because there’s a 100% chance that the thought “Hmmm, what can I wear to outshine the bride?” never went through his head. He was just a young dude who wore his nicest outfit probably thinking more about the pussy it would get him more than he was anything else.

This is probably what actually happened. Shoule he have worn his dress blues? Debatable. Does it really fricking matter? No. Marines don’t care about stealing thunder. They care about drinking and pussy.

You live in South Louisiana. It’s not like there are thousands of military dudes running around here.

Military, like Policeman and Firemen, should wear should their uniforms when they are on the job or on official business. What’s next, Baseball and football players wearing theirs? geez.

Good for you.

Like I said, I guess things have changed because I remember it being common seeing and being expected to wear a uniform at formal events like weddings and funerals.

Not saying one way is right or wrong. Just interesting that it’s changed.

I’ve got formal wear as a firefighter but I don’t wear it to people’s weddings

How many weddings have you been to that many active duty dudes would have been able to attend anyway?

Well I lived a stone's throw from an Air Force Base for 24 years so a lot. Had a few active duty guys at my wedding too.

Well the Air Force dress blues are hideous so I wouldn’t wear that on purpose either.

Not much anymore. The wife frowns upon it.

A young Marine thinks to himself "Spend $300 on a suit or spend $300 on beer and partying?"

Beer and partying normally win.

Didn't seem weird to me

That's like 12 suits, 38 dress shirts, and 800 ties.

Man you’re really dancing around addressing his answers. Anyway, it’s funny to see the weird military guys in here trying to justify this weirdness (because they did it too)

You’ve obviously never had to live off an E3 paycheck.

Who has a black tie optional wedding? Black tie is reserved for groom, groomsmen, ushers ?maybe? and father of the bride. Class A uniform is considered formal and I've seen soldiers wear this to all kinds of formal functions. As someone else stated, Marine Class A's look damn good.

IMHO she is a bitch and the groom should have just walked. She would have been the center of attention, but she decided to make him the center of attention and that is all most of the guests will remember, thanks to her.

She was wrong and I'm glad her insecurities ruined her day.
