It’s not about recognition. You’re just wrong. I’m simply pointing that out.

Most people expect you don’t try to outdo the fricking bride. Like how is this a hard concept for you?

She said black tie optional. If she didn’t want military attire she should have said so.

Then your military buddy would have been offended.

She didn't, and that's why she kicked him out.

And that’s simply why I’m asking. You never answered my question why? Just some dumbass remark. So if you want to answer me I’ll be open to discussion

Or more likely just not have shown up in his uniform.

Which I agree,

But military uniform code doesn't trump a trashy bride on her wedding day.

What fricking young dude looks in the mirror before he goes to wedding and thinks “Hmmm, I wonder if this will ‘outdo’ the bride?”

Dress blues are considered equivalent of a nice suit. One step under a Tux.

So by accepted étiqueté norms he followed the dress code exactly.

Yes, no and maybe.

Black tie optional does not mean a nice suit. I have several, lets just say nice, suits that are either Glen plaids or window pane fabric and none of them would be acceptable for black tie optional. Again, black tie optional has a more specific meaning than many people think. When attending a formal function in an official capacity Whites or Blues are expected beyond that it is simply try hard and skirts the intent of the dress "code".

I will again say that dress codes for non 1%er weddings are kinda silly in this day and age.

Well it’s just a bullshite excuse. What if some broke college kid showed up in slacks and golf shirt cause he spent all his money on beer the previous semester? We’d all laugh at the dumbass. But somehow our military gets special treatment.

Don’t wear your blues to a civilian black tie event unless you’re the focus of the event: that is, unless you’re the groom - or part of a wedding party where the groom is also wearing his blues - or you’re receiving an honor or award, it is tacky to wear them.

No shite. If anything, he was thinking about the bridesmaids.

I think it’s more like “I’m not even thinking of the bride and groom and I’m just thinking of myself so what should I wear” that person is an a-hole and trashy. I don’t care if they work for our fricking corrupt government

Whats a bullshite excuse? The invitation said Black tie Optional, this dude wore an outfit that fit that description. Slacks and polo shirt don’t fit that description.

And then posted on social media that he was asked to to wear his military uniform, for the attention. Like he did after he was asked to leave for wearing his military uniform.

I would hope that’s what every young single dude going to a wedding is thinking about.

To be fair, he wasn't laughed at. He was booted.
