If you listened to the podcast you would realize that when he was referring to Maoism, he didnt even mention Biden. He was referring to the extreme groups who have basically hijacked the thought of very prestigious publications and companies because they are terrified of backlash. And how in certain institutions he is starting to see the beginning of people starting to realign their beliefs in such a way that they can pander to these groups while still getting their carrot. What he's referring to is how the pandering eventually begins to turn into real belief systems because to lie like that and keep going on you have to lie to yourself, compromising your integrity.
He mentions Biden but it has nothing to do with this point.

He also discusses how the opposing side completely denying that there is anything for people to upset about pushes them further and further towards violent ideological revolutions.
I think that just as democrats must admit that hillary and her ilk helped bring along Trump with their denials and pretending everything is fine, the republicans must also come to terms with the fact that in many cases, denying the presence of any inequality, or lack of equal opportunity for advancement in many communities - has helped what should be small, isolated ideologies gain more support because they pretend to give voice to their concerns. Regardless of the fact that those ideologies won't end up helping him, the people flocking there are joining because a large portion of the normal groups want to pretend that nothing is wrong and so people start looking for some change, any change.

I think DeltaDoc is on to something - had Weinstein not gotten cancelled for standing up against this exact movement, he would have chosen to go along with it 5 or so years ago and would be right in the middle of it today. Very insightful.
