It’s always nice to hear from somebody like that.
I’m sure I have many different views than Weinstein, but you can tell he’s a rational person that can have a level headed discussion.

what's sad is that a lot of folks will disregard everything he says because he doesn't like trump/biden. He got kind of extreme with that but he was very rational and level headed.
He often talks about discourse but when both sides are operating on different sets of facts that are not true how do they even begin?

Definitely check out the entire episode. It is a good listen. This guy predicted this stuff was going to happen, after a microcosm of it happened at his campus - and he’s a traditional liberal. Weinstein also has a weekly podcast where they discuss what’s going on, that is a must-listen.

His reply to the Eurocentricism of the Enlightenment was essentially, "Who cares where it came from? It's the best thing that's ever happened for humanity as a whole."

His first interview on JRE is great too. Think it was right before or shortly after he was fired from Evergreen. We probably would disagree on a majority of things, but at least Weinstein thinks before he speaks and has some interesting points. Better than 70% of the tards in this country

He has a bunch of good podcasts / interviews, his Dark Horse podcast is legit - his brother Eric is the shite too and has a great podcast called The Portal.
It would be nice if we could have a lot of people join together and acknowledge that both trump and biden are completely embarrassing as presidential candidates.

I'm only 15 minutes in and so far this guy is dead right on what the political parties have done for the last 30 years and the impact it's had on normal people.
He's hitting on something I just can't understand. You have most of what this site is comprised of - suburban and rural white people who vote republican and then you have a more diverse cross-section of people who are urban who vote democrat.
But neither the republican or democrat bases are voting for their interests. Instead, y'all are all arguing against each other over social issues. Social power is not power - political power is.
So who's winning? For common people, no one. The aristocratic class, though, is gangbusters.
Who is going to show leadership here and stop arguing over meaningless shite and actually get something done? Who is going to just say something simple - we need more funding for social programs, policing is a social program, and we will get that money from the 1 percent of people who have 25 times more wealth than the bottom 99 percent? It's embarrassing and this guy is right, there's almost no way this ends well.

Weinstein is a smart stupid person. He’s a walking contradiction. Had he not been cancelled, he’d be right in the middle of all of this Leftist movement without the fame.

That's the main issue I see in today's America. Most people automatically write off people who have different political views and refuse to listen to what they have to say. It also extends to entertainment. "I don't like ___'s political views, so I also hate his music."

We have those people - they just don't get any attention whatsoever. So then everyone who is "normal" and just wants to move forward as a country gets disengaged because they can't handle all the bullshite. I was the same way until I discovered Yang this year, the guy Bret suggests should be drafted for president / VP later in the podcast. He gave me hope that maybe we were ready to move beyond the partisan bullshite of the last 3 decades or so to actually get something done.
Of course he got frozen out by the DC establishment and partisan hacks

You're right by saying if he wasn't where he was, when he was, no one would have ever heard of him. But he dissented. He actually did what few others were willing to do.
I'm struggling to see what he did wrong. A problem arose, and he had to sense to stand by his reasoned convictions.
