At the Madagascar neighbourhood, a man became angry after his wife refused to give him the money she had been saving in the bank. A quarrel erupted and rapidly degenerated into a physical confrontation. In the course of the tussle, the man strangled the wife. In the second incident, a man at the Mbanga-Bakoko neighbourhood hit and killed his wife with a pestle. The wife is reported to have served him rice without soup, whereas he had given her enough money for food.

A 34-year-old Chinese businessman was shot and killed by unidentified armed men at a place called “Rue de la Joie” Bali neighbourhood in Douala. The gunmen on board a motorbike first rained shots on him, but the acrobatic Chinese fought his way into a nearby Chinese restaurant where he sought for refuge. The heavily armed men forced their way into the restaurant and shot him a few more times leaving him unconscious. He later gave up the ghost. According to a security source, the gunmen also shot the night guard and went away without taking anything. The latter is currently receiving medical treatment at the Douala Laquintinie Hospital.
