Pretty typical when you believe you have a barricaded suspect with hostages
I’m more concerned with when did they know it wasn’t that? You play John Wayne and force entry on a barricaded suspect with hostages and get them all killed then you’re fricked.

Officer Ruben Ruiz with Uvalde CISD Police, his wife was one of the teachers killed, Eva Mireles. He knew she was in there, she even called him from the classroom as she was dying. He was outside the school.
I’ve seen video of the police cuffing and restraining parents to keep them out of the school. Were they doing the same to their own officer trying to get in to save his wife? Surely he was trying to get in right, not just calmly talking to his wife while she bleeds out and the Chief is “checking keys”?

If the shooter is ACTIVELY shooting then you engage with urgency to prevent loss of civilian lives.
This wasn't some type of hostage negotiation in the works.
These cops fricked up and they failed to do their jobs. One may say they don't have an obligation to engage or they aren;t paid enough. My response to that is go get a different job then.

Not if they do it right. The only way anyone would find out would be when they kill a shooter, in which case the teacher would be considered a hero and be untouchable.

It looks like the shield attaches to the end of the rifle maybe. If that’s the case, you attach that mother fricker, put on a swat helmet and goggles, step inside and go to work. What a bunch of cowards.
