Still more concerned with catching the flu than ebola.
Initial symptoms are that mimicking the flu. So, imagine if this jumps away from that hospital environment population and seats itself into the general public. There will be a ton of missed cases unless they can create a quick diagnosis test.
Hooray for people flying from Liberia back to the USA when they knew they were in contact with people who had Ebola.
I don't want to hear a damned thing from that mans family. In my view, he's done more since OBL to jeopardize national security.

Come on man. They haven't even put up travel restrictions.

Seriously. Hey guys people from a known high concentration area are flying in and infecting our citizens. Should we just watch and see or shut down travel from those areas, something that won't stop it completely but at least eliminates that avenue of threat? Yeah let's just watch and see what happens.

Liberals are worried about being "fair" to the world. Shutting down air travel to Africa because of something silly like a little bug would be unfair and racist.
Personally, I say shut it all down, but what's the point when people are coming across the southern border with diseases that we flushed out of our population 70 years ago so why not throw a little ebola in the mix?

It's fricking retarded that we're still allowing people to fly here from there. Want to come to the US with W Africa as your point of origin? Great, you can wait in isolation for 21 days at your expense.

a travel ban will literally do nothing to prevent further outbreaks in the US

It will prevent new infections coming in from West Africa, though, right?
I mean, had a travel ban been in place, Duncan would have been turned away and wouldn't have had the opportunity to infect now 2 American citizens, correct?

If the guy from Liberia that came here with Ebola wouldn't have been allowed to come here, there wouldn't be an outbreak in Dallas right now.
Am I missing something?

otherwise people will just leave west africa and come here from somewhere else

We need the entire world for customs to deny entry to the U.S. anyone holding a West African passport?
Posted on 10/15/14 at 6:42 am to Pilot Tiger
As long as it makes it more difficult and expensive to get here from west africa, it would deter more than freely letting them in.

Hindsight? WTF?
"Oh theres an outbreak of Ebola in West Africa"
"Welp, we better not let anyone travel to or from there enter the United States."
How in the hell is that hindsight? Its like saying "I knew I was going on a 5 hour car ride that I wont have anywhere to stop on, so I guess I should've taken a shite before I left."
