Branson MO is the Las Vegas of the Mississippi

Branson is the Live Music Capital of the World, and has earned it. We saw six shows during our week, and loved two and hated one. The Highway 76 strip is garish, but the shows are very good. Just be careful about booking in the summer, as there is only one road from Rt 65, and it crawls in the summer. The shows are morning and evening; I would not recommend a morning show that would normally be performed at night. The Haygoods were fabulous; an eight person family (7 brothers; 1 sister) who were fantastic in energy and variety.

That kind of entertainment is not my thing, although I have taken my daughter to several shows, and she loves it. There's several superb golf courses there too, and plenty of nice clean hotel rooms at an affordable price. I'm glad to hear that it was crowded - that means they have customers. Their economy depends on it.
And for the record, Branson is on the White river (Table Rock lake dam) not Mississippi, but I get what you were sayin. Glad you were able to get out of town with the fam.

You can maybe get away with Branson for Marnie..
But, you better have reservations at Wynn, Bellagio, or Aria, if traveling with Molly.

I'm ok; I'll pass.
I don't need to let the world know I have given up on life and accepting mediocrity. Its a place for old arse people that have been to all the cool places in the US (Bronson isn't in the top 100) or broke arse kids that are tagging along with their old parents that will pay for them to take a vacation.

Dumbest thing I've read on the OT all week.
Nashville is closer to the Mississippi than Branson.
New Orleans, which is actually on the Mississippi and has a real casino, say hi.

Can't remember how you feel about the other three?

It’s a good place to go get Baptized.

Are you that geographically retarded?

i drive through there going to my cabin in arkansas. those millions of billboards of the shows (i.e. presleys country jubilee, father/son/grandon trio, clay coopers country express) have always creeped my out for some reason. there are some skeletons in bransons closet, i just know it.
