if you're truly a pharmacist, can you tell me why some won't disclose the generic brand they have in stock? Do you at least agree that not all generics are made equally the same, particularly when it comes to adderall? If a patient doesn't get the "healing" they need from a certain brand of medication, shouldn't they have the right to know before the script is filled, because once it's filled it's theirs for the next 30 days. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm genuinely curious
Most chain pharmacies limit the ability of the pharmacy to order certain generics, especially those in schedule 2 like Adderall. Chain pharmacies utilize warehouses in buying contracts to increase their margins.
Teva is preferred by lots of people because it is the maker of the brand, therefore the brand standard. Yes, it is well known that some generics are somewhat inferior to Teva.
The reimbursement and published discount prices for generic adderall is less than what Teva generic Adderall costs, even when there isn't a shortage, so in a market in short supply where we don't get to set the prices like an independent, no one is endeavoring to bypass their warehouse's preferred generic of anything at a loss. People expecting pharmacies to carry Teva at your insurance reimbursement rates or good rx prices can EABOD.
And why don't we want to tell you over the phone? It's not because I don't believe or empathize with you. It is because we don't have time for that shite. Those kind of questions, like "Hello I'm rando caller, do you have a special brand of a controlled substance in stock?" has to go through the pharmacist, and we just don't have time to answer all you pIcky folks calling about this.
If you require a specific generic, have your prescriber request it in the rx...and that will put some accountability on the pharmacy to contact your prescriber and tell them they don't have that one. ETA but really, a typical busy pharmacy will likely just put it on hold (ignore it) and wait for you to show up to let you know. They don't have time to call you.
People who leave with the one they don't prefer without checking can kick rocks.
Hope that helps.

Some chemo patients get amphetamine salts to help with their exhaustion.
Bet you feel like a dick now.

6 patients spread over a few states is a shortage? And you have to wait a week? Oh the travesty!

epending on your state, like in LA, you need a written Rx so the telehealth e-Rx will not work.
You are wrong. These prescriptions are absolutely sent electronically. They do not have to be handed over on a piece of paper. I have absolutely received these ERXs from telehealth prescribers at my LA pharmacy.

omeone wants to use recreationally, they are going to buy it or coke, meth, etc off the street, they aren't going to pay a co-pay or higher every 3 months just to spend $300 or more just for 90 days.
It's a lot cheaper than that, but even if it wasn't, you're wrong. So fricking wrong. You have long, wrong posts.

I hope he does. My cousin has fibromyalgia and the medicine they gave him on to control his pain makes him sleepy so they have him on adderall to counteract the side effects. It’s so sad to watch him struggle

The only people I know that use Adderall are not for ADD but to stay awake.
How many ADD kids does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Hey! You wanna go ride bikes?!!?!

This is a good thing. We need to get our kids off this crap! Use this as an opportunity to detox from this junk!
Unfortunately, I think an adderall shortage is going to result in more kids looking for it from alternate sources and getting fentanyl instead.

Sure, some people will buy (or trade!) them from friends but a huge percentage will simply get their own prescription.
Not everybody has easy connections or the desire to buy cocaine or meth lol.
I mean do you seriously think people are buying cocaine or meth instead of adderall to save money? To avoid a copay? Anyone doing that instead of legally buying adderall just wants to do coke or meth.

It’s heartbreaking. My buddy takes adderall for his ADHD but it makes him so hyper that he has to take fentanyl to calm down.

You can actually be prescribed methamphetamine for adhd too, as long as you're at least 6 years old

I'm addicted to Adderall - I regret the day I started taking it. I had to wait two weeks in September for my refill because every local store was out. I was absolutely miserable.
