No cop in a big Louisiana city will care if you have dark tint or no inspection sticker. The only places that care are shitholes that generate revenue from tickets.

I went to a “high end”/ fancy gas station in Mandeville. Guy told me “you’re a little dark on the tint but I’m gonna let you go”. I feel like it’s a crap shoot sometimes

I know people like to shite on illegal tinted vehicles for various reasons, but I don't understand how some of you can handle a clear fishbowl in this Louisiana heat. Plus, I can pick my nose and nobody can see me.

Rear Side Windows are 25% according to the LSP Website.

Makes sense as this is what my tint vendor stated. What I stated was from a different website. I believe La. has the strictest rules in the south.

40-50% is limo tint, you cant see through that shite with a 1m candle power spotlight so im not sure what you think you mean by 40%

5% refers to how much light is blocked

A 5% is the darkest tint you can get, and you can't see through 5% tinted car windows at all. In most states, a 5% tint is illegal. It's most commonly used on the back windows of private cars and limousines.

Sure go ahead with your interpretation of tint laws.

I'm sure you've been told, but you have no idea what you're talking about.
I have 40% on my front windows and it's like nothing is there. It's about to get ripped off for much darker film.

Can confirm about Port Allen. Son got pulled over for illegal tint on Hwy 1. No other reason or violation. I think the ticket was about 300 dollars.

Went to get sticker and for the first time in 20 years of bringing vehicles to this place, they checked with the meter and refused to write it.

I bought a car with a valid inspection sticker. When I went to get it recertified, they refused because of the tint the vehicle came with. Said the state was cracking down on them. I think they used to turn a blind eye and decided to start pushing the the issue.
