I'm actually glad you brought that up. This is where my libertarian side kicks in and makes me wonder what I should do. My gut instinct is to keep the state out of this irresponsible decision, but I also have concern for the welfare of the child.

Believe it or not but a lot of those rims are rented. My wife used to be an insurance agent before she retired and said that a lot of those rims are rented. Part of the rental contract says they have to maintain insurance on them

Growing up as a kid in the 70’s, seat belts were literally something that just was in the way. The only time we’d really notice them is when we got in the car as it had been sitting in the hot sun all day and they would scorch your behind if you sat on them. THAT IS, if the vinyl seat didn’t roast the back of your legs first.
