Pulled next to this car yesterday and there's a 3 or 4 year old kid unrestrained and sharing the back seat with a tire/rim. Kinda hard to tell but you can see the back of the kid's head right behind the driver's head rest. Beside the fact that the kid isnt wearing a seatbelt, if the driver slams on the brakes and that tire moves, that kid could get hurt/pinned.

It amazes me that some people are allowed to have kids.

But don’t write them a ticket. That’s cruel.

I see kids unrestrained all of the time. It's usually in a 1985 Cutlass or a Dodge Neon that's falling apart.

I'm more worried about the unrestrained, unflagged pvc pipe hanging out the back of that ford parked by the redbox machine

I bet you see more not restrained properly than actually restrained in a car seat correctly in that area.

I had a guy the other day in an old bronco peel out at the stop sign next to my house, lose control and drive in my yard through my driveway. It had just rained. He then went back to the stop sign, peel out again and stop at my neighbors house. Peel out again leaving going down the street probably 50mph.

All the while having 2 kids probably about 6 years old in the back of the bronco in the back cabin standing up for the ride.

Growing up as a kid in the 70’s, seat belts were literally something that just was in the way. The only time we’d really notice them is when we got in the car as it had been sitting in the hot sun all day and they would scorch your behind if you sat on them. THAT IS, if the vinyl seat didn’t roast the back of your legs first.
