I can't imagine why US citizens would be wary of German immigrants in 1938.

I, too, think it's a bit amusing that guys like Huckabee, who are supposedly devout Christians, want to deny sanctuary to those truly in need.

Well Christianity is a religion of peace. They've never tried to kill anyone.

That's the problem you're not seeing. It doesn't take 3 million to be a problem. This Paris attack was carried out by like 8 guys. The Boston Bombing was carried out by 2. 9/11 was carried out by 19. Then there's also the multiple instances of "lone gunmen" opening up in places like Chattanooga. It only takes a small handful to create carnage.

This is why we're approaching the war on terror completely wrong. You can't always stop these terrorist attacks, not unless you become a totalitarian state. Do you want that?

We have to start winning the PR battle. Conducting air strikes which take innocent lives will only sow seeds of hate. Denying sanctuary to those who need help will only breed contempt. We are doing exactly what the terrorists wanted. They want European countries to close their borders. They want American politicians to get on TV and say, "Watch out for those dirty Muslims! Don't let them come to this country!" They want to take down everything Western culture stands for.

Am I saying we need to bend over? No, but we need to realize that terrorism has always existed. The people who committed these acts of terror in Paris were French and Belgian nationals. Think about that. These terrorists are in every country because they espouse an ideal, an ideal which appeals to the most alienated and the most downtrodden. And what do we do? We alienate those people even more, which makes their choice that much easier (assuming they weren't forced to join already as we see sometimes in Africa). We need to stick to the ideals of Western culture and not act like fricking pansies every time there is a horrible terrorist tragedy.

Terrorism is a short term gain, long term loss. They KNOW that what they do won't work forever. That's why they space out everything. They know that, eventually, the people they terrorize won't fear the possibility of death anymore. Someday, the people they torture/terrorize will say, "frick you. I don't care anymore. Do what you want with me. You'll never take my dignity as a human being."

Once that happens, it's over, and they know it. That's why they are so calculated.

So, what do I think we need to do? Keep training people in the Middle East to defend themselves, find a leader the people will trust, have them take out the terrorists, and we legitimize them as a state. It's really the only way. h

Yea, people born in Belgium or living in Boston or training in Florida. It could be anyone. These people weren't born radicals, they were converted. For all I know, with your level of stupidity and xenophobia, you could be the next bomber.

Ah, here we go, can't make a legit point so you've got to call the other side stupid. That's just pathetic.

But to your point of it possibly being anyone. You're right, it could be a "homegrown" terrorist. There's been instances of those just as there's been instances of "refugees" being terrorists. That being the case, what logic can you use to justify bring in even more potential terrorists when we already can't keep track of all the threats we face today? We don't know who any of these people are. And this "vetting" process is a joke. There's no record to "vet" them against. There's literally no way to tell who is a real refugee and who is a terrorist. Yes, we need to help the refugees. But that can be done by setting up camps for them OVER THERE. And while we need to help these people, the number one mission of the Fed Gov is to ensure the safety of the American public. Allowing tens of thousands of people into this country who we really know nothing about while knowing there a 100% change at least some portion of them are ISIS terrorists is a move that goes beyond stupid and borders on treasonous.

ISIS has also said they've recruited hundreds of Muslim nationals already citizens of western countries who will rise up and perform lone wolf attacks. Should we deport every Muslim in the country? ISIS is a shrewd organization. All their terrorist attacks and threats are calculated politically. They're lying or at least exaggerating bc they want the West to throw aside their ideals and freedoms in a manic bid for "safety." They know in the long term the the soul of Islam will be won by the West, and civilization and peace and prosperity. Unless they can get us to turn on every single Muslim, and force it into a global everyone vs Islam war. That's what they want. It's no coincidence these terrorist attacks in Paris happened three weeks before their national elections.

I'm not a big Obama fan and I don't want truckloads of Muslims brought here, but I'll still maintain that the worst president is the idiot who invaded Iraq and left te power vacuum that ISIS filled.

That can easily be trumped if the next president is the one who opens the front door and invited ISIS in for supper

I'll put them at 1a and 1b on the shite list. One caused the problem, one made it worse.

Dense? Are you kidding me? ISIS has said they were going to smuggle terrorists into the West. And less than a week ago they carried out a massive attack in Paris using at least one guy from Syria who was supposed to be a "refugee". But I'm the dense one.

I'm wondering how many of these Islamic sympathizers would be willing to take one or more of these poor Syrian refugees into their home...

Well, I'm 6'4", 250 pounds, 8% body fat, have guard dogs in every room, and more hardware than Blackwater. I think I'll be just fine.

ETA: Oh, and I have a 14 inch cock as wide as a beer can.

Check your FACTS.

FACT is that 5% of Muslims worldwide are radical. That is by the most conservative estimates.

Given the most conservative estimates for a country that is far more radical than other countries is a start.

5% of 3 Million is what?

And seeing how they're recruiting "homegrown" terrorists that we've got to keep track of, how much sense does it make to allow thousands more into the country, any of which may or may not be another terrorist that has to likewise be tracked and watched?

And I still want to know why we've got to bring them here. WE can set up refugee camps right next door in Turkey. We can give them all the provisions, medical supplies, everything they need. And we can keep them safe from ISIS there. So, considering the known security risk these people pose to the US, coupled with the fact we can provide them safe haven in the Middle East, why bring them here at all?

If I had the time and money, I would love to. I think it's great that some churches are helping them.
