where i grew up. good location to access anything in BR. Quiet. Most of the houses were all built in the 70's so some are probably outdated.

What about Capital Heights?

IEJT checking in
Only con imho, but its not that often, is losing electricity during any substantial storm event because of the combo of majestic oaks and above ground power lines. Otherwise its the best

It's not just that. It's the first neighborhood to lose power and the last one to get it back.

Why do people feel they must live in BR because of family? We left BR and all our family was there. One by one they all moved too. It took us leaving to show them how nice other states were. You get one life. One. Don’t waste it by living in a shitty city.

I'm going to be buying a house in BR in the next few months. Don't try to talk me out of it

Edit:
Someone bumped this 4 year old thread. I've already bought and sold. Moved out of state

apparently.
FYI I moved to BR to be near my parents because of their health issues. They are both deceased now and I moved as soon as I figured out where to go.

I felt compelled to live near my parents when their health deteriorated. They are gone now and so am I. I've lived in other states and knew I would leave again. I didn't feel it was a waste of 4 years. You think I wasted years of my life taking care of my parents? There is more than meets the eye in any given decision. I didn't ask for life advice; just advice on neighborhoods.

Sorry about your loss. Sounds like you're a good daughter.

Thank you. My siblings and I all pitched in. I'm glad I had the ability to move nearby and help them.
