Some, sure
But go look at the 70s in BR before busing
Catholic schools were around, but their enrollment was not that big
Public school went to shite, and they exploded
Oh I agree. Maybe I should have said "lots of factors go into peoples' decisions to send kids to Catholic schools. Shitty local schools is absolutely a major factor...a bigger factor for some than others."

The decision was made by the Catholic Schools Office and local school officials have insinuated that its implementation requires further discussion.
This is in the news blurb.
Maybe not set in stone yet

Full of hypocrites in leadership as well

I’ll be calling my school and the diocese as well. Perhaps letting them know that tithing will cease for my family…..and we will strongly encourage family that belong to other parishes to do the same…..and list those parishes for them. Money talks. One family big deal. They get this type of call repeatedly….it’ll move the needle without question.

They said the principals are meeting to "see what they can do", and please call the archdiocese and complain
Its clear the archdiocese has their head up their liberal asses, and the ones running the actual school know the consequences this will cause

Masks work. Layperson friendly source of info (peer-reviewed scientific source available):
LINK
Vaccines are safe:
LINK
As long as the virus has hosts willing to accept it, it will continue to mutate. Eventually, it may well mutate until it is uncontrollable. That mutation may make it less serious, but it may not. Every person eligible for and able to receive a vaccine who does not get vaccinated and dies, suffers long term effects, or spreads the virus to someone else who dies or suffers long term effects does so willingly. Don’t fall prey to the misinformation campaign by the Russians, Chinese, and anarchists that is amplified by the ideologues and evangelicals.
This should go over well on this board.

If this thing is like any virus ever, it will
Mutate to more transmissible but less serious/lethal

Why can’t they have this choice? And I’m vaccinated.

Where are you reading that?
That's such a weird interpretation of the rules (which I, too, think are goofy even though I'm willing to vaccinate myself and my kids).
Another, and perhaps a more logical, interpretation is that the unvaccinated kids are wearing masks to protect other unvaccinated people. And as such, they have to distance / mask.

Proud of most of y’all! If I had kids, I’d be pissed and outspoken like you. Make your voices heard.

Once the vaccine became available with ease, you cant present a logical argument for keeping a single restriction

They just responded to my email.
Thank you for your communication.
Catholic schools are following current guidelines from the State of Louisiana that are based on CDC recommendations for a safe beginning of school in an effort to minimize infection and quarantine that would disrupt education for children. Information is posted on the Catholic Schools Office Website at www.csobr.org under the link “2021-22 Back to School.”
Although other districts may not begin the year with some of the protocols we are initially adopting, the diocese is being proactive in establishing a policy for schools where individuals are indoors together for extended periods. Each Catholic school will adjust protocols to meet the needs of the students based on their school sites, and details will be disseminated in the next few weeks.
The Catholic Schools Office hopes that positive changes in the pandemic in our area and updated medical information will allow for reevaluation and relaxation of safety protocols during the school year, and it promises to remain flexible in considering updates as they are received.

So they think canned responses is going to quell the outrage?

Agree with both of your points with two caveats:
1. “If this thing is like ALMOST any virus ever…”
2. We do have this choice, but it should be an informed choice.

The way I see it is...Travel at your own risk if you don't want to take the jab. Same with wearing masks.
It is none of my business who takes it and it should be their personal decision. Kinda like skydiving.

1. Which virus got deadlier after racing around the globe in 1 calendar year?
2. I agree. But I believe everyone has been informed
