don't get the abrupt retirement. Why posture that you want to remain Chief for the past (7) months and put up with SWB's political statements in the press if you ultimately intend to leave in a few months. It seems to me if he planned on retiring he would have told her and not have had to endure her demands for the termination of Salamoni and calls for a new Chief.

There's no telling right now. He could have just had a good moment of reflection and realized he wasn't really working toward anything, just keeping his finger plugged into the hole in the dike, postponing the inevitable.

I imagine we'll eventually white flight out of BR too. I just hate the long commute.

Defamation lawsuit no doubt.

It's great when public officials expect due process for criminals apprehended by the police but not when the police use lethal force to protect themselves from criminals.

Last one out turn off the lights.

Like I said before, downtown is probably going to start seeing the effects by this time next year. Catfish town here we come!

Unfortunately, she's a psychological mess. Social media and reality bleed together for her.
But she LITERALLY works with over 140 countries on the reg.

The BR CoP job will be like the Ole Miss job. No one worth a damn (needed to clean up the city/parish) will take the job.

ETA: this is bad news folks

was hoping he'd fight her until the end. I guess he finally caved

I don't think he caved in, so much as he just flat out knew he was under appreciated under paid and it wasn't worth the fight.

ETA: under staffed and under supported

I just texted President Trump about his new job creation policy and he assures me that he looks forward to working with me to help our communities prosper.

most of the taxes in those areas are spent in those areas. as you can see from the schools and other public services in those areas and far and beyond on what BR proper serves.

Because the taxes are higher there than elsewhere in the parish.

Sheriff David Clarke. I'll tell you what...if he was put in charge there would be some major street cleaning going around. He ain't the type that just sits around and talks tough.

I just hate spending 2.5 hrs a day in traffic. We live near work and the kids school just because of the damn traffic.
