Ill put it this way my commute to work only got longer by 10mins but the mileage of my commute tripled. Was only going 7mi when living in BR and now I am at like 25mi but only 10mins longer.

I am hearing some chatter that SWB may have not followed the City of Baton Rouge plan of government by appointing an interim. Allegedly, the plan of government would call for the Deputy Chief to replace the chief in the event of his resignation.
I mean, do you even Google Mayor Broome. Sigh...

Ridiculous rise in property taxes?
Then again, your property value will probably drop, so I guess it might not cost you too much.

So let me get this straight,
She doesn't believe in due process for City of Baton Rouge employees (Calling for Salamoni's termination in advance of AG investigation).
She doesn't believe in verifying backgrounds and resumes before hiring her Chief Admin Officer (Troy Bell and his pirate ear ring).
And now, she doesn't believe she has to follow the plan of government for interim heads (Appointing a lower ranking employee over allowing the Deputy Chief to serve as interim).
Seems legit.

Can you post a link to this article? I'm very interested in reading it.

You, sir, are correct.
Like I said before, it's great when public officials expect due process for criminals breaking the law apprehended by the police, but not when the police use lethal force to protect themselves from criminals breaking the law.

Well, he's retiring, not resigning. Does that change the process?

wonder why they arent going to pay him out on his leave and just allow him to retire now? maybe that money is taxed differently. Its like 49-50 days of paid leave.

I, personally, cannot wait to see which candidate SWB pursues. I'm sure he/she will have tremendous talent and experience, and race will play no role in the selection.

Gravy's justification is that since the city is majority black now, they HAVE to have a black PC. I wonder what his opinion would be if a white person used that same logic.

Think that's just the way City Parish does things

Not sure how you can legally appoint an interim when the position isn't gonna be vacant until October 2nd
